and wasn't it on display yesterday:o Our senior 'leaders' give us absolutely nothing when its really needed and it's hard to sit and watch listless performances as a supporter. What makes it worse is that we have seen that punting those responsible was in no way detrimental to the side. Surely you're aware of this Terry?

we have no senior leaders...no one on our list shows anything as a leader apart from Ax in my honest opinion
even our cpt. Kane just turns to jelly when the heat gets turned up...ie. over the head handballs, hand balling to players under the pump

Let's not go down the route of coach sackings again as itLet Terry fulfill his contract then let's see. hasn't got us anywhere in the past 25 years.

We need a new culture rather than being perceived as a club that eats its own. Hopefully, when it will be time to replace Terry, we can attract a coach of high calibre as they can be confident that during hard times they will be given a chance rather than booted out at the earliest opportunity. Frankly who would have wanted to come to Richmond with their history of coach sackings. For example remember how Tony Jewell was booted out after th 1981 season despite being the premiership coach the year before!!!

Agree.

you do realize that he took over the job from my personal fav coach of all time D. Frawley:mad::thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:......and the mess that he left us in it has taken TW 4-5 years to turn the list and players around to get us to a point where we are looking towards the future positively ie. being a contender in 3-4 years

any change of coach would be very detrimental as it would be a new coach with a new idea of how we should play, pre conceived ideas of players and ideas of who to trade for....all of which affects the list..so we go back to where Terry started 4 years back
i agree if in 3 years time we are no closer than hes out of here....TW's "chance" as many people have said as a coach starts as of NOW...he's gotten us to an even keel now its time to power forward
Here we go, the ol spud defence. While spud was an absolute dud you cannot say Wallace has devoted his reign to turning over the list. If he has, why are Hyde and Tivendale still there? Why did he recruit Graham, Kingsley, Knobel et al? Why didn't he have the guts to do a proper cleanout like Clarkson did, who didn't even have the security of a 5-year deal - but at least had the courage of his convictions.
And how you can say we look like being a contender in 3-4 years is beyond me. Richo will be gone, replaced by a black hole. You've heard of Pagan's Paddock and Malthouse's Meadows - our forward line is Wallace's Vacuum. Simmonds will be gone, replaced by um, oh... don't worry I'm sure we'll find a ruckman. Brown will be gone, Johnson will be gone, Bowden will be gone and Coughlan might never play again but that's all right because Cotchin will be better than both Gary Abletts rolled together, JON will repay the faith, Deledio will be Chris Judd only injury-free, Riewoldt will be better than his cousin, Rance will be better than Scarlett, Putt will be the second coming of Paul Salmon, Tambling will make Buddy Franklin look like Ray Hall, and McMahon will lay and break tackles and hit targets with laser-like precision. All the kids we draft will turn out to be champions.
God, I can't wait.

The drover's dog could have coached that team to a flag. Jewell's subsequent coaching career proved he was a master only of pulling his hair out. Our mistake was that we sacked him a year too late and thus missed out on 27 years of Sheedy-led success.

There are three possibility's of who will be our coach next year.

1. Terry Wallace
2. David King
3. Kevin Sheedy

My self, i believe that Terry will keep his job, if i can recall he did say he was not expecting a possibility of a premiership until 2010 - 2011 because he is building up a side and by the look of it he is doing it very well.

Thought it would be a good time to ask, we are half way through the "08" season now and we are 3w/6L/1D and in wallaces fifth year as coach!!!!

Wallace's imprint is starting to come through and the attacking style looks like it is very impressive when we are hot. We have speed upon speed...and I love it.

I believe the standout thing we are missing in defense at the minute is quality short spoiling defenders.

Our list of shorter defenders : King, Raines, McMahon, Newman etc are all ATTACKING defenders and you could count on a few hands the amount of spoils they have had between them. I do like them all to different degrees, however we desperatley need shorter defenders who can also spoil and take an opposition small out of the game !! Can anyone name one person on our list who could become a a good defensive spolier? Hyde? Maybe? Raines if he continues developing and fixes his flawed run on game? Maybe?

The next thing missing....

Our taller defenders, well they are not that tall or big ! We started developing our taller KPP's this year with Putt, Rance and Gourdis. So it's going to take time....

Well said Tassie27.

Yes and no deliberate.
If we have a good year and win 12 but miss out on percentage and we have had a few close losses and we have had all the kids playing then he should stay.
But if we have a year that we win 5-8 games and there has been a few thumpings along the way then I agree.... Wallace should be retired.
Good to see that you are giving him till the end of 2009 and screaming for blood at now or at the end of the year.
I would hate to see the club payout his contract with no return, and a new coach on big dollars.

Keep him and give him another 2 on top of this contract

He has 12 games this year to prove he is turning things around, Sundays match has un done all the good work, will be interesting to see how we bounce back.

No point giving him his 5th year if we dont even look like improving.

Wait till the end of 09 to decide he's fate.

After 10 rounds last year we were 0-10

after 10 rounds this year we are 3-1-6 thats an improvement

Win another 4-5 games this year and maybe finals next year and he's safe, no finals and he's gone.

Sweet Jesus.

You've beaten who?

I notice a lot of people here have been talking about "the kids" and their "time to develop"....but that's actually (one of) my main concerns with Wallace...Tambling's development as far as I'm concerned has clearly been adversly affected by Wallace's overcoaching..and probably has a lot to do with Deledio's stunted progress (Yeah been good this year but he really should be absolutely tearing it up and dominating by now....and yes- he hasn't exactly been surrounded by guns ..but still...) I just worry what he might do to the likes of Cotchin an co. if they play too much of their early senior footy under him.

Sweet Jesus.

You've beaten who?

Who the ____ after a 100 point flogging and only 2 wins for the year goes and trolls the board of a team actually ahead of them on the ladder? We could ask you exactly same question , d!ckhead. Nice to see they're not in denial over there.:o

Wallace,s position is safe.He has shown the board what we are capable of over the past 6 weeks[Sydney game excluded].Once we add/introduce a few more skilled kids to the side then those close losses and draw will be come wins.

He should be judged on the remainder of the year and who he sends out the door at seasons end.
The club has made in-roads this season by the injection of youth and by over looking players resumes, got a funny feeling that's all about to change, if so, it is going to be a hard last half of the year. There are about 4-6 older players he should show the door to if he is fair dinkim about coaching a Richmond premiership side.
