Will give you a KPP forward (Digby Morrell) and a tall forward/defender (David Bourke) for your 1st round pick.

And then we'll give you David Clarke for Daniel Wells.

For a Key position player, if so who and how should we go about it?

I'm happy to trade the pick, provided we get a top quality player in return.

Otherwise we'd be better served using it to get a good kid.

Geelong need more individual stars. You get those stars with early picks in the draft. We should try and keep pick 6 at all costs.

Assuming we don't get N Ablett we should use our 2nd pick (21) + a player and get the best possible option we can. All of these options have been talked about before.

I agree.

What players would you consider worthy of us giving up our first round pick to get??

Croad??
Petrie??
Rawlings??
Lucas??
Gehrig??

Anyone else??

Nathan Brown is worth our number 1 pick, I'd probably give it up for him, too.

Otherwise, nah, don't think I'd give it up. Certainly not for Jade Rawlings.

Nathan Brown would be a great addition to our forward line, but I don't think he'll come to Geelong.

Assuming we get pick 6, although we may just get 5 or 7. There isn't going to be any valuable KPP's left at that stage, although there would probably be some good midfielders or flanker type players left. We don't really need those sort of players at the moment, but there are teams who do, so I think there is real potential for a trade being done.

Clubs that finish down the bottom must try and keep their early picks as much as possible. It's the best and most proven way to get the quality players you need to challange for a flag. We may not finish in the bottom 4 for at least the next 5 years, with all our youngsters, so we have to make sure he are getting good players now.

The First 5 picks are Hard to predict .
Cooney (rover)
Bradley (Kpp/Ruck)
Dunn (Rover)
Tenace(rover)
Watts (Kpp)
Chaplin (kpp)
Ray (rover)
Clarke (Flanker/Rover/maybe Kpp 192cm but only 78 kg so dont know)

There is a list of some of the top players.

You only have to read the first article under his name on that link.
"I'm staying a Lion: Brown". Jonathon Brown would be sensational for us but we have absolutely zero chance of getting him. He is not homesick, he loves it up there. He chose to go their under the father and sun rule. You only had to see him after the Collingwood game where he kissed his jumper and pointed to the old lions emblem to know how passionate he is for the Lions.

That damn father and sun rule, no wonder Brisbane has such an advantage. ;)

Oh yeah the sun rule, that must be why the Lions keep winning every year :o :o :o :o :D

I think I meant the father son rule but now I'm not so sure. In a few years I think the rule will be known as the father/Gun rule as a tribute to Geelong's success. (Don't worry "Skills Clarke" will be a distant memory by then). A Scarlett, Callan, Blake, a couple of Ablett's, a mini scratcher Neal, propelled back to back premierships. What a dream.

We all live in hope.
