I know this type of player isn't in our immediate needs however was awesome in the TAC cup final today. 32 disposals, 14 marks, 11 inside 50's and 10 goals. Wouldn't be disappointed if we called his name on draft day. :thumbsu:

That shouldn't matter, if he's best available at our pick we will take him, that goes with any player.

I think Ziebell would be the better option, but this guy just rocketed his ranking today to around your pick.

One thing is for sure he won't get to pick 11 now.

Did kicking eight goals rocket Veszpremi into the top ten in the 2007 draft?

Maybe the Bombers will pick Sidebottom if he was that good.

How much weight do recruiters put on a game such as Sidebottom's when Hartlett is unable to play due to injury or his side being out of the finals?

Gee I would honestly be pissed off if the Club drafted a player (Sidebottom) on the basis of one cracker game in the GF ...

FWIW I don't think he's a top 10 pick personally, and I'm still pretty much set on us drafting Hurley, as long as he's still available ... (Essendon's our only main danger IMHO to getting him) Hurley is the player that we probably need the most out of all the available young guns and is pretty much a sure bet IMHO ...

We would be taking a massive and unneccesary risk picking Sidebottom at 6 ...

i seem to remember the commentators mentioning he is a bottom age player, which therefore means he cant be drafted this year i think?? correct me if im wrong

It's not one game mate, he's dominated the TAC Cup finals series, 3 high quality games in 3 of the most important games of the year.

I'll be shocked if he isn't picked in the top 10, shocked. He'll be an absolute steal if he's picked outside of the top 10 IMO. Remember he is a bottom-ager, he's only 17.

He has got such an all-round game that he is probably one of the least risky player to pick, not sure how you come up with that last statement.

Ain't that the truth! :D

Jump on his wagon people. What a ripper.

Keep pick 6 at all costs.

Well obviously I haven't managed to watch all of the TAC finals games, but I just believe for Carlton, Ziebell and Hurley are more 'likely' types ... I mean foresight is 20/20, but really if Hurley is still available at pick 6, we will draft Hurley, without a shadow of a doubt ..
Oh yeah, I'm not sure if he is eligible for the draft either if he's only 17.

Maybe I'm a bit biased, cause I've been on the Hurley bandwagon for quite sometime now ..

he can be drafted. bottom age refers to a player who can still play under 18's next year but is eligible to be drafted. He must turn 18 next year before the cut off date.

Bryce gibbs, paul bower and andrew walker were all bottom aged players as to trent cotchin.

He seems like a very complete player without any obvious flaws. Good kick with both feet, not overly fast but certainly not slow and seems to love a goal. Could be a steal ala Joel Selwood.

Hurley is the player I want but just about certain to go to Bombers with pick 5. There is word though the Bombers are seriously looking at Chris Yarran. Would love it if true.

Very jaw-dropping decision if the Bombers do take Yarran at pick 5 IMO. While i haven't seen to much of him, i think he has big question marks on his attitude (i.e. fades in and out of games) and his attack on the ball might hamper his productivity to become a midfielder in the future. Also don't think he is near best available but having said that, he might be top 5 in potential, just a big risk IMO.
