Dear Hawks fans,

I would like to know whether he is training well or his normal, lazy self as he always was at Carlton, which of course led to a rift with Denis Pagan because Pagan is and always has been known as a hard taskmaster.

His disposal is awful, but he is courageous, but very much a downhill skier.

How is he going at Glenferrie? Not a favourite, but still interested to see how he is going.

cheers

I can see him playing alot of good footy at the hawks, at least here he wont have to be a key position player. People have short memories about footballers, he has been a Carlton gun over previous years. Great pick up for the Hawkers

I agree acuguy. Beaumont at Carlton reminded me very much of how Mark Graham had to play in the early 90s - on guys much bigger and stronger than he.

At Hawthorn, we have the luxery of having a big-bodied squad with Hay, Jacobs, Croad etc which will allow Beaumont to play a more suited role.

He's not old and has plenty of experience.

He'll be a better player because he will have intelligent players (a lot more than he had at Carlton) around him.

Pre-emptive knockers give the guy a chance in a better line-up.

At least he will be out on the field with actions greater than the words coming from the 'experts' sitting at their computers.

Christmas XXXX cheers "---hic---" Gazza.

Beauy is an honest player, is capable of playing forward and back. Hard at it and will not shirk a contest. Unfortunately he wasn't able to adapt to Pagans Style and I don’t think they were best mates either. His real weakness is his disposal, can be atrocious at times, guaranteed to make 2-3 major blunders a game.

I'm disappointed he is no longer at Carlton, but his time was up at Optus, will be a real good player in a stable team like Hawthorn

Beaumont can have good daays and bad days,
personally id prefer Harford and BJ .
I don`t think you gave much up for him and he might end up being very handy.
Very courageous. His attitude towards Pagan was very disappointing. Smacked off a spoilt child.

Real good players don't make 2-3 major blunders a game.

I for one will not make any judgement on him until I see him in our colors. I still think he will be better for us over the next 2-3 years, than an untried, unknown 18 year old.

Lets give him a go, and then have a chat about him once we have actually seen him play for us.

Can't be any fairer than that can we ?

Agreed King Dunstall,
We should always give a new player the benefit of the doubt. Look at Paul Salmon, we all ( me included ) bagged him when he was exchanged for Darren Jarman. Now I know it's a long bow to draw between the success of Salmon and Beaumont, however we must support our own, as he now is!
ps Pass on my regards to EC
