Don't like to re-open old wounds, but he's looked very very good in his first two games for the Pies this year. Even his disposal has looked solid.

Not sure whether to be happy that he's making a go of it for Collingwood or not, but will be watching him with interest as I always thought letting him go could bite us on the bum.....

I remember reading when he was first picked up by Collingwood that their doctors diagnosed his injury as a hip injury when we had diagnosed it as groin (OP). I have a feeling he was never going to be developed well at Melbourne for some reason. It's for this reason that I'm happy he's going well at Collingwood.

Kicked his two goals in junk time last week, and almost the whole game this week was a breeze for the Pies.

Still a fringe player, so I don't really care.

The goals don't really impress me - it's his positioning, agility, pace that impressed me, and even two areas he wasn't great at the Dees - defensive efforts and kicking - have been very good.

Probably a fringe player at the Pies but still, two very promising first games for them.

I'd be pissed off if we didn't have Tappy. Our half backline suddenly looks the goods with Grimes and Tappy.

They definately should of got rid of Miller before Buckley.

Mick came out after the game and said there are about 12 players pushing for selection at the Pies (unsure if true) but he singled out Buckley as one player who would be 'apprehensive' about his spot.

I don't think he'll last very long.

He def made some mistakes which cost goals. But still makes you think how a guy cannot get a game in the wooden spoon team but then can get into a fit premiership side a couple of years later.

I think it says more about Collingwood than Buckley. Maxwell has to come in, either Buckley or Macaffer will be dropped.

They are an amazingly strong team where at least 20 players pick themselves every week.

He pretty much came as advertised. Decent skills and sometimes questionable decision making. He's been solid, but he'll lose his spot when Maxwell comes in next week. You rightfully won't be losing too much sleep over his departure.

He was really unlucky to get delisted after missing almost all of '09 with injury..

maybe could have rookie listed him instead of newton or something....

I always liked him as a player. He tried to take on the opposition too much though and Mick Malthouse would have taken that out of him. Interesting that they trust him deep in defence against good forwards (well, relative to North's forward line, Thomas is a good forward). We never would have done that.

My grandma would look good in that team.

Pretty much, every really good team has a couple of spuds that look great until they aren't surrounded by stars anymore.

For what its worth I think your mostly correct. He is clearly a player having a Red Hot Go, good luck to him, most probably wont get many more games once their skipper gets back, I don't think we will miss him but he is showing Collingwood why he was pretty well regarded by many supporters at the Dees as a hard working player willing to get as much out of himself as he can. I was sorry to see him go but if it was not him it needed to be someone else. Just like it will be later this year Go Dees give em HELL this arvo!

What are you talking about? Buckley had 34% efficiency in Round 1 and only used the ball with any purpose in junk time - he was getting reamed up until that point!

This weekwas a breeze for the entire squad, he will be dropped like the spud he is very soon (probably Round 3 or 4)

As Wes Grossman said in Tropic Thunder, "a nutless monkey could do your job."
Good on him, but I can't see him lasting long... Amazing team.

Being surrounded by quality will make anyone look good.

Best of luck to him but I'm not concerned. He'd be slopping around falling on his arse and kicking out on the full if he was playing for us.
