Maybe a confidence thing for Lycett? He seems to have lost the hard at it attitude he had last year and is a bit timid...almost like he is worried about making a mistake instead of just getting in there. A bit disappointing but he'll snap out of it in time.

Lycett will come good. I admit I have been frustrated as well but he is a good kid.

Reminds a bit of how timid and soft Zac Clarke was for Freo for a while. He came good and is now a very good forward / ruck. Not sure how old he is - probably a year or so younger than NicNat.

Lycett is in his 5th year but for a ruck that's not much considering he has played less than 50 games still. Most rucks take a while to develop and learn how to throw their bodies around. Just look at Sandi.

I think most of us are annoyed that Lycett was playing extremely well last year and seemed to have already come good last year and going backwards this year.

Zac Clarke is a month and a bit older than Naitanui

Clarke is actually about 2 months older than NN, not that it matters much. Pick 37, 2008 draft.

Lycett will be fine.

Lycett has been ok. Hasn't set the world on fire like we all thought he would, but we need to remember he's a 22 yo ruckman with only 26 games of AFL under his belt. He will be fine, just like all big guys, just take a bit longer to develop. He's got all the foundations of a very good ruckman.

Bringing in Sinkers is definitely not the answer, probably won't do any better as a ruckman, give Lycett until at least the halfway point to settle in, this is the first time he's been a regular starter.
yes it is the answer

Sinclair is riding coat tail. The fact Sinclair is a more adequate forward and less experienced ruckmen has probably played into his hands a little but at this stage Simpson like Worsfold jumped the gun too early.

Sinclair could have been dropped after his first few games.

Got to remember Scott is three years younger (almost to the day! ) than Callum.

I have been super impressed with Callum's improvement since coming up to seniors. Lycett is starting to fire at EP...a shame about the groin issue.
everyone wants a bigger groin

Lycett has a long way to go to make up for his first few games. Especially as Sinclair is working into some decent form. For the life of me I cant understand, other than injury, how badly Lycett regressed from the form he demonstrated at the end of last year. It was like we were playing a guy short.

Got too comfortable with Cox retiring and signing a four year contract? Motivation is a tricky thing.
