Does anyone think that Takeover Target should be the fav today. He did get beat by apache cat who is one Australia's best at the moment and in my opinion Absolute Champion is up to that level if not better.

For mine $3.20 looks generous

TT has barrier 2 which supposedly a significant advantage. The price will be very low given sentimental support in Oz. I am putting some money on Absolute Champion which should get 3.5-4 compared to under 3 for TT. I spoke to a friend in HK who is part of syndicate that own AC and he is dropping a 5 figure sum bet instead of the usual 6 figure sum which may suggest a bit of worry with injury prior to transport or form in training leading up to today. I would not be surprised if we see Magnus/D Oliver sneak in for the win if the pace is slow though but I have followed AC for while.

A horse by the name of Zizou just won the 3rd race in Singapore. I'm assuming this is the same horse that ran under the same name in Australia??? Does anyone have any further info??

wow great win by TT. I thought Magnus was going to catch him. The horse that came third Sanziro(sp) from HK had some late pace but Magnus hung on. i will be speaking to my friend tomorrow but it did not look good for AC.

magnus was very stiff i believe, had to do a lot of work, couldnt cross, caught wide, fought on gamely!!

on the other hand, take nothing away from the winner!! love his will too win...

geez that local that got a place, flew late!!

It's not the David Hayes Zizou. Yesterday's winner was bred in Argentina, has always raced in Singapore (18 starts, 4 wins).

In a sad aftermath to brilliant Australian sprinter Takeover Targets win, former aussie galloper Absolute Champion broke down last night in the Gr1 KrisFlyer, fracturing his off fore fetlock shortly after the start, he was later put down. He raced in Australia in the stables of Warwick Farm trainer Steve Englebrecht as a two-year-old under the name of Genius And Evil before being sold to Hong Kong, where he has taken on the world.

Nothing worse when this happens.

Absolute Champion came 2nd in the 07 HK sprint. So yes he did beat the wrong legged Miss Andretti.
