Watching the game on TV, and at half time, we are looking good.

Skipworth is playing awesome! Three goals in 5 minutes! :) Commentators were saying he is averaging 18 possessions a game this years... He is really sticking it up the critics this season! :)

Skipworth three goals in a quarter?

It's official: I can no longer take this match seriously.

Pure comedy. Especially that leg break third goal. Had me bursting out with laugher.

Yes, it WAS hilarious! Although I wouldn't be laughing if I was a North supporter.

Also, at the start of the 3rd quarter, Skipworth set up another goal.

Skipworth kicks the winning goal, though it really should have been Mattner.

Thank goodness the umpires' attempts to crucify us in the final quarter didn't come off.

Like a porno ..one swallow does not a summer make..but I hope Skippy sits down in a corner tonight or tomorrow and thinks about a few things...one and the most important thing is he can do it. Self belief is the number 1 criteria in AFL. Yes talent comes a close second..but if you dont believe in your own talent then you will go nowhere.

Lets see if he is ok from injury and backs it up next week.

Congrats to Neil Craig for having more belief than 95% of us on BF

Dave thanks for saying what we were all thinking :D

I must admit after that Melbourne trial game I was expecting a good year from Skipworth but nothing like this. Magnificent performance.

Skipworth gets his 4th!!

Plus set up another, 20 possessions... HAS to be BOG!
Definately not!

In the best players, but the opportunities set-up that he took advantage of were some great work by others.

but PC it's not one swallow, he has been gobbling away for a while now. Everytime it's "well it's just one game, let's see him go on with it"; well it's his 2nd BOG in 3 games!!!!
not just ok, but probably best. He polled charlie votes last year to go with some 20 possie games. At this rate he is dirtier than Jenna.

WW,
I can just imagine you at home, fingers in your ears "LA LA LA LA, I can't hear you, I can't hear you, LA LA LA"
:p

You're an idiot. You twist all the facts to suit yourself.

Skipworth sharked some nothing kicks off the packs and kicked 2 goals.

Skipworth took a mark and kicked arguably beyond his range under extreme pressure to seal the game for us.

Skipworth was brave and effective in the guts.

You look at the games through your biased glasses and review accordingly. You're ridiculous. Like the last person said - you sit there with your eyes covered and fingers in ears 'lalalalalala'.

So yes, go on thinking Sav Rocca dominated and Skipworth didn't do much. Your football credibility is ZERO.

Your second BOG but not mine.Yes he has been effective no doubt..but that missed handball/turnover must have elicited a groan not only from the people at Footy Pk but also those watching at home. Do you think my assessment is right in that he needs to sit down and believe in himself?

:D If he keeps producing like this it's going to put holes in my argument certainly.

I still maintain that he can do things like today, but still he's not the "type" of player we need - our smalls need to be able to carry the ball across the lines - we need some pace.

I can imagine how much work at the selection table was put into stopping Skipworth? - hence he doesn't get opponents respect and on a days when he's hot this is going to happen.

Once he has the oppositions respect he doesn't have the skills to cope IMO.

Not going to deride his day because I have ALWAYS said he works his backside off and is getting the maximum return on his skills - today is a day he will long remember.

If those comments came from someone I respected I would justify the comments

Guys, let's keep the debate to a reasonable manner and avoid getting so personal.

And for what it's worth, when Skipworth kicked his first goal, my initial thought was: put that one down to Scott Thompson.

Dave I have no intention of entering into a debate ;)

no i don't, I think he needs to keep going doing just what he is doing.

Pointing to a turnover, or one incident is just a soft way of trying to support a critical view of a players performance, any player.

Surely one good thing outweighs one mistake, so why bring it up?

You don't respect me? Oh what a pity, because I really seek the respect of a sook who pulls out the 'could haves' when a player he doesn't like puts in a good performance.

Because it seems to be the modus operandi of this board to bring it up. I brought it up to highlight that ..AFTER..Skippy seemed to dig deep and find something within himself that bypassed any mistakes he made and to take first option. In the mistake he seemed to look for second option..which I feel he needs to eliminate from his game.
