Slade Appreciation Thread

Thought I would start an appreciation thread for the greatest glam rock band of all time.

Slade are sadly mostly forgotten these days. They put out some classic glam singles in the early 70's & at one stage were bigger then T Rex,Bowie and the other big name glam acts.

Coz I Luv You is probably one of my favorites.

Run Runaway was the song that got me into Slade. In my top ten songs ever along with Look Wot You Done.

Personally I think Slade were way ahead of T-Rex, so many more great songs. Prefer them to Bowie too. I love that clip of "Look Wot You Dun", particularly how much heavier it is than their piano-tinged studio version.

"Slade Alive" still stands up as a great live album. And "Far Far Away" is one of THE great rock songs that no one knows (or has forgotten).

I'll throw you one NH, one of my absolute favourite songs of theirs (with an awesome guitar riff) is "Do We Still Do It". Utterly unknown song, probably even to fans.

Far Far Away reminds me a lot of John Lennon's Instant Karma. Great song nevertheless.

Do We Still Do It is also an awesome song. A song that you can easily see Suzi Quatro performing(my favourite female singer).

Far Far Away is a good one. I haven't listened to Slade in years but listened to them quite a lot at one stage. Checked out Every Hit and surprised they had 6 #1s.

Gudbuy T'Jane is another favorite.
