GD friends,

I've always been quite a solid sleeper over the years. Rarely dream, snore, drool etc.

Recently, I've been snoring a heap and can't stop dreaming.

Anyone know why that might be?

I'm a bit stressed over Uni work and my work schedule, but not hugely.

Just pissing me off (and everyone else in my house who hears it).

Anybody else have similar experiences with their sleep patterns at all?

I remember a year or two ago I became a shocking drooler. I'd wake up in small puddles of cold water. Not sure what I did but it eventually stopped now I sleep like a log.

I haven't had a good night's sleep in about 2 years U MAD BROSHRLJR:OJG)4

Any changes in diet, or personal life? Basically any change in your life can affect your sleeping patterns, the most common ones are health and stress/anxiety related. It could even be the stress of uni and work.

Could be any number of things.

Commonly sinus congestion following a cold or as a result of allergies or change in weather contribute.

Last few weeks can't get enough sleep. Last night for example was going to go out, stayed in and watched the footy didn't make it through the game bed by about 10 and didn't get up till about 1230. That was after getting up at about 11 on that day.

Every hour of sleep you get before midnight is worth two after.

Heard this as well and I tend to agree. For me I'll go through stages where I'll sleep fantastically then at other times I'll sleep like crap. It depends on what's going on in life. Stress due to Uni, work, personal issues etc.

How the F*k do you stop snoring?

Recently, I had a friend stay at my place. He snored when he slept and it was very loud. When he stayed at my place again, I recommended to him that he ingest some lemon before going to bed. It worked a treat! The sound of his snoring was significantly reduced.

Stress is one thing.

Another very odd tip though- try giving up alcohol for a while, ideally 24/7 but if you can't do that, 6 hours before bed.

First thing i noticed when I did this was far deeper, more regular, and restful sleep, and anecdotally less snoring. There's actually some scientific basis to this, as alcohol messes with your ability to enter REM sleep.

I love coming home drunk and falling straight to sleep. Great feeling.

The morning after, though...

we had a baby two weeks ago
that will screw with your sleep - getting on about 3-4 hours a day now... with a short nap when I can find one

Ours is 8 weeks. Still have the occasional rough night but things will get better for you fairly quickly :thumbsu:

Took me two and half hours to get to sleep last night. Worst.
Had a decent one last night and actually woke up rested after 8 hours.

Seems after posting this thread my sleep's improved.

Had one of my worst nights ever last night

Put head to pillow at around 12:30am and was rolling around until at least 4am without getting close to a nod off

Eventually fell asleep and was up at 8 not feeling terrible but I'm sure come 5pm I'll hit a wall
