I'm not the best sleeper myself. The only thing that works for me is staying up really late. Only problem with that is Uni or work in the morning. :mad: Maybe try and exercise late in the day? I usually sleep well if i do some sort of exercise a few hours before i go to bed.

When you figure out how to get to sleep, let me know. Good luck. :)

Sedacalm.

It's natural stuff, and you can get it from chemists.

Not that you should have it all the time (like anything), but always works for me.

Alcohol is another good one...;)
 
Being an imsomniac, when I am desperately in need of sleep, I find copious amounts of alcohol does the trick, mind you the side affects are usually a hangover, so you have to decide the worse of 2 evils.:D
 
No good asking me - 5 hours means I've slept in.

Yeh I think excerising before bed is a good way to actually make you tired which makes it easier to sleep :o

I find if I exercise before bed it stimulates me and I stay awake longer...well most forms of exercise anyway;)

Hey Sbagman,

I am a bit of an insomniac myself.

Thats why on my latest trip to the US I stocked up on sleeping pills! You can buy them over the counter there - and geez do they work! Bought about 500 pills, should keep me going for a while.

"Unisom extra strength" I have - the recommended dosage is 1 tablet - I take 2 to make sure! They havnt failed yet to knock me out - however I got warned not to take them too often, obviously.

I only use em when I have to get up real early.

Used em on the flight home - I took em as soon as I got on, read for an hour - then crashed - woke up with 45 mins to go of a 12 our flight! 10 hours baby! I was jumpin out of my skin when I landed! lol

Go to a Doctor here who can then give a prescription for sleeping pills.

Your problem is exactly what they were made for!!
 
These are just some things that have worked for me in the past. (Normally from lack of sleep due to something bothering me)

exercise/ hard work during the day, but not just before you go to bed.

but if you do a lot ot work, make sure you do a couple of different things during the day, if you're thinking about the same thing all day, you'll be thinking about it at night as well. If you're just laying there thinking of one thing go watch a bit of a video/read a book.

don't try and control your thoughts, let them flow, they normally end up flowing in a nonsense pattern and then into sleep (or so I've found).

milk is good, I've heard hot milk is better, but I hate hot milk.

fantasy's (I don't mean sexual ones, they aren't gonna let you sleep), imagine a situation, play a story in your head, it'll just get your thoughts away from whatever is worrying.

If all else fails(and I mean all else) up and start solving whatever is worrying you for a bit. You might not get a good night's sleep, but at least your mind is clear.

During footy season on Tuesdat nights, it used to be watching that shoddy English show before Talking Footy, then watch Talking Footy.

Three boring people and an opposition coach or skipper always does the trick! ;) :D

Seriously though, I can't get any shuteye unless there is some music on...

I would say that if I sleep until 8 .. thats a damn fine effort .. although 7-30 is normally my sleepin :(
 
Try really hard to stay awake...and you will fall asleep...happens to me all the time...and when i want to go to sleep....i cant
