Depends what you mean by 'phone's cut off.'

If the number is still valid, then they'll think you're ignoring them. ;)

If the number isn't valid, it will say 'message not sent.'

Well, then, they won't get any message saying 'message not sent' and hence they will probably figure the phone isn't cut off. ;) And figure you're either ignoring them or have no cred.

I had a similar problem last week when a guy at school kept ringing my mobile wanting me to go to a party he was having. In the end I got sick of hearing it ring so I answered it and done the old static in the background trick.

If he asks I'll just tell him I don't get good frequency at my house (which is true), problem is I still need his help in some classes so I can't **** him off for good.

Ignore him and switch your phone off. That will **** him off and will leave you alone

Speak to him in private and tell him that you aren't interested in his party.

I bet she whinges later on the males don't show her any respect.

I don't think "MESSAGE NOT SENT" would come up for an invalid number.

I've sent SMSs before and accidentally hit send before finishing the number, and the "MESSAGE SENT" confirmation has appeared despite the number having only 7 or 8 digits.

Never appeared on a bill though.

Lol its nothing like that. He is a nice boy who looked after me however started asking way too personal questions therefore i took his number out of the phone and i am now making a rule for the phone and msn anyone who i haven't heard from for a certain period of time will be deleted.

Oh no ****wit, I didn't say I didn't like him (read my post again).

But I only know him and wouldn't feel comfortable at a party where it's his friends from his old school and me. I'd feel like the odd one out and it's just not worth it when I can hang out with my buddies and girlfriend that I went to school with and know alot better. He's actually really cool, but not the sort of person I'd hang with, so it's not like we'd have a longterm friendship, just a buddy in class.

Man I sound like a chick

Oh and shutup Suzie

Maybe it depends on your plan/contract etc, network and phone? I've sent messages before to invalid numbers and had 'message not sent.' Either way, as long as you're not charged for it!

Yeah I do that with msn too, mostly because I have sooooo many bloody contacts on there anyways (currently 146 people  gawd) and I end up with 20 or so people online at any one time and it's pointless to have people on there I don't speak to anyways. :)

And with the phone I have erased the numbers of people I don't like/hear from and if I don't recognise the number I don't answer. :D And if it's important they leave a message anyways. ;)

Nope because I don't do that sort of stuff. There are some ppl who like to try and get your details off the internet and ring you up at night and it is because you or your family have a number that is easy to get to.

It's not good having a public number and going on these forums.

That's why I have a silent number so that nobody can reach me.

Think yourself lucky

My father still gets up to 10 prank calls daily every day for 2 years now i reckon on the mobile and our home phones right on cue every night. Shows up as either payphone or private!
