Pick 25 - Geelong
Harrison Macreadie - Henty

Three reasons, one, i like him, two I see him as a replacement for the aging Harry Taylor and Tom Lonergan in my backline, and three I feel he was the most likely of my next few to be taken Port at the next pick before my two...

Magpies2010 your up...

In:
1. Toby Greene
All Australian dynamic half forward at the age of 23. Also has some midfield capabilities while kicking multiple goals per game. At such a young age, he has already entered into elite territory and we are thrilled to have him.

2. Daniel Talia
All Australian full back at the age of 25. We couldn't believe it when the Adams-Talia deal went through. If there's 1 addition that would strengthen our team the most, it would be Talia. The All Australian key defender is everything the Pies had hope for and more. Perfect list fit, massive trade bargain.

3. Hamish Hartlett
One of the most damaging outside player there is. Top level run and carry and has an absolutely potent kick. Has previously struggled with tags but that won't be an issue at Collingwood with others such as Wells, Treloar, Pendlebury, Sidebottom.

4. Jarrad Mcveigh
After recruiting the talented half-back Tom Cutler, we felt that our backline was still too young and needed further development before full AFL exposure, so we brought in the experienced Jarrad Mcveigh. Despite being in the later stages of his career, Mcveigh still offers very good rebounding service and will prove to be invaluable towards the development of Tom Cutler and Matthew Scharenberg

5. Josh Jenkins
Jenkins probably was the Pies' second greatest recruit in the offseason. Kicked 62 goals in the year, averaging close to 3 a game, while also playing a large proportion of his game as a lead up forward and back up ruckman, some would argue he deserved a final spot in the All Australian Squad. Regardless, being part of the AA 40 men squad, Jenkins is a high profile centre half forward and would immediately strengthen our best 22.

6. Jack Grimes
Picked up as a DFA. Purely from a best available basis, we felt he still had something to offer in AFL, and would be a solid back up to our best 6 defenders.

7. Sam Collins
Before recruiting the highly touted Daniel Talia, we were set on having Collins shoulder the full-back responsibility in 2017. He is undoubtedly a talent we really rate. At the age of 22, he has already held his spot as an AFL full-back to a very high level of performance. The growth potential is immense, and having him as the back-up to Reid, Talia gives us the green light to HEAVILY pursue Key forwards in the 2017 draft.

8. Michael Barlow
I never understood why he was so underrated by Fremantle and Ross Lyons. He is in our opinion a top 20 inside midfielder in the comp, and was criminally played out of position in the last few years. His contested ability and contribution to clearances is elite. Being a strong bodied player (189 cm 91 kg), he would add the grunt and defensive work necessary to complement the offensive midfielders such as Wells, Pendlebury, Treloar and Sidebottom. Considering how cheap he went for, another massive bargain.

9. Matt Rosa
With the departure of Crisp, Adams, Greenwood. We felt that the inclusion of solely Barlow isn't enough to take us far in our 2017 premiership campaign. Therefore, we brought in Rosa as our depth midfielder, who on a good day, can still be a solid B grader.

10. Ivan Maric
We brought him in as our back-up ruckman and ruck coach. We thought Maric was the ideal fit for this position for a number of reasons. Firstly, performance wise he's achieved a very high level in his prime years. Secondly, he plays a very similar playstyle to Grundy, being that mobile ruckman who is superb around the ground but only above average in taps. Thirdly, he still can offer decent AFL level performance when Grundy is rested. Other candidates considered: Minson, Currie.

11. Tom Cutler
Tom does not nearly get the credit he deserves, perhaps due to not many people watching Brisbane matches, but he has been undoubtedly one of Brisbane's few shining lights in 2016. Strong run and carry, good footskills, pace, he's got it all. He is part of our future plans and will currently compete a defense spot on the bench with Matthew Scharenberg. We hope the 2 together can eventually take over from Hartlett and Mcveigh and resume the damaging half-back roles.

12. Fremantle's 2017 1st round pick.

The 2017 draft is looking like the strongest Key forward draft in the past decade. Currently, Collingwood has 2 first round picks and will use one of them for a highly regarded key forward, and the second one perhaps for another KPF or a slider as others are immersed by the wealth of key position players. There's also the synergy with the recruitment of Jenkins, who will shoulder the Key forward load for a few years, just enough time for the 1 or 2 key forwards we will recruit next year.

13. Will Hayward (Pick 24)
15th on my list for the 2016 draft. He's a strong marking half forward, who is both damaging on the lead as well as being a great marking option inside 50. As the list stands, Collingwood is set in terms of defence and ruck talents, and will continue to pursue midfielders and non-KPF forwards in the draft.
14. (Pick 33)

15 (Pick 49)
