watching the ABC/question time thing and holy shit, this is laughable

what an absolute bunch of knucklehead knobs the lot are, hooting and hollaring like school kids in the lunch yard, I've seen it before, but every time I do it shocks me just as much if not more

how was this ever viewed as acceptable?

I think I read that Daniel Andrews was going to ban Dorothy Dixers in QT, that would go along way to lessening the current farce IMO.

Bishop's eyes scare me

Thought Turnbull has been good on Q&A ....whether he can handle the toxicity of the economy is another thing.

Either way, I think that the middle class welfare mindset that goes back to Costello era has created an electorate that doesn't want pain...so both parties are in this situation of Poll driven instability.
Turnbull is a self-made man, knows what it's like to struggle, has made a squillion - Abbott was a journalist, so I think Malcolm has more experience + would be a good treasurer! He still doesn't have quite enough experience to be PM though. I think he's too honest + straight forward to be PM yet lol

And bring in who?

Scott ****in Morrison is going to be his treasurer

Nothing will change. As soon as he does something that gets them in a tizz theyll toss him, just like they did last time. And like they're doing now with Abbott. And like they did with Rudd. And like they did with Gilliard.

The political class in this country are a bunch of inbred lunatics who worship only their cult-esque party and the gaining of power. They'll do anything they think will achieve it.
Scott Morrison is a monster! Spending hundreds of millions to stop the 3,000 or 4,000 illegal immigrants coming to Australia by boat! Why doesn't he process the 95% of illegal immigrants who come to Australia by aeroplane, offshore? Jordan has 500,000 Syrian refugees! France + Italy were getting 30,000 refugees a week, each, during the northern African turmoil!

That's not what I'm getting at, Shane Hird. Did you vote for what you thought was the best available option at the time? If so, why the sick feeling and all that?

I explained it quite clearly. I wasn't about to waste a vote by going informal- or vote for some irrelevant bunch of imbeciles like the greens. So what other choice was there? I #### ing hate Tony,Hockey, Bishop and all the Libs...but the only thing I wanted was that stupid, pointless mining tax gone for good.
Living in Perth and working in the mining industry a few years back, I saw first hand how this tax ####ed things up big time.

It's just the way it is.. I'm certainly not happy about it.

Abbott seriously thought about being a Catholic priest when he was young. Says it all about the man really..

Voted Turnballs but would slam Bishop so yeh just wanted to put that out there.

One would want to hit the road early the next morning... I shudder at the thought of what she looks like without the heavy makeup.

Why do us humans feel the need to follow/blame a single leader at the top? Does it matter so much? How much power does he actually have, considering that he's beholden to his party (apart from the knights and dames sideshow)

I vote for everyone in the country getting to be Prime Minister for a single day, elected via a huge tombola machine. Hopefully GrizzlyM's dad will get his chance one day.

She cracked onto a mate of mine at Liberal Party do at Chianti. He turned her down, reckons she's rough as guts close up.

The woman has a face like a sun dried prune.

Great hairstyle though.

Keating only had one actual term, and that was only won because of the birthday cake farce with John Hewson. Bob Hawke was booted from the role despite now being seen as a national treasure, and everyone knows what happened to Gough.

Then you have Beasley/Rudd/Gillard/Rudd/Nelson/Turnbull/Abbott.

I know he isn't terribly popular in retrospect, but you have to respect the way that John Howard won 11 years off this public (and more for Costello, no doubt, but for Work Choices and senility paving the way for KEVIN07). It's actually bloody unusual that a pollie loses popularity as the years go by, IMO. Everyone loved Gough loves Bob, whilst Fraser is possibly the most sought out political mind these days. Rudd was a w***er, but he gave us free money as said earlier in the thread. People miss Gillard, but that's in the same way that some Brits miss Gordon Brown - it's kind of shameful and not too considered. Julia comes out looking okay, but it was the way that she ran the party/country from day to day that helped win the Libs the election last time around.

He was as good at running a campaign in office as Abbott was in opposition.

Bishop. By a long way. Abbott is an unadulterated turd and Turnbull is a liberal populist knob in the same vein as Rudd was for the left.

Bishop at least has her head on straight.
