Ellis cannot be far away he was running very strongly a week and a half ago at training.Cannot wait to see him up and going even if it is with Box Hill.

I'm actually quite happy to see us out of the NAB Cup, based on the regular season form of previous winners of the comp (think Carlton and then Geelong in recent years!). It is a glorified practice match where injuries could have raised their head unnecessarily.

Now a chance for us to give the young guns a bit more game time against more experienced players. It will help them to find their feet ahead of a season where they are bound to see more action and more will be asked of them.

Shame about the injuries to Max and Mitch, as it puts more of an onus on the other young players than might have been the case without these injury blows.
