So where now for Cox?

Sad to see Coxy go, absolute champion of the game, although it's good to see him go out on his own terms.
Here's a personal favourite of him from the archive ;)

knew you would say that...hands off mate ;) we'll give you kane mitchell and redden or maybe kane mitchell and a 2nd round draft pick?

You already stole Ebert from us for nothing, develop your own players

well stop stealing them from our state..simple really lol
lol, this guy.

I'm sad to see Coxy go, but hopefully Lycett puts pen-to-paper (if he hasn't already) and we can all look forward to flag #4 in the near future.

Maybe he was just sick of living back there time locked in the 70's ....seriously you guys crack me up .
Its the AFL sunshine NOT the SANFL If they get drafted, thats where they end up & play .
So unless he feels the need to time travel back to the 70's he will be staying put .

70's?

Absolute Legend and he has done the right thing for the club. Hopefully the decision was based on knowing Lycett's future intentions.

Now its time to forget about some of the games this year and look back on how good this guy was. Its hard to put players in an order but he would be in talks as a top 5 player at our club.

Now lets see him put away the arm flailing and give us some vintage cox for a couple more games.

Cheers Coxy!

Would have liked him to just play the end of the season, give NicNat a big rest and an earlier, build up pre-season for 2015. Then have Cox as a backup just to get him to 300. :/ Shame that's a luxury clubs can rarely afford.

I'll repost my post from the main board:
I've been very, very critical of him over the last two years because his form was simply not good enough. But he was an utter champion of the club, a great servant and the best ruckman of the modern era. Great career. I'll be forever thankful for his service.

Now, in saying that, I don't see the need to play out the rest of the year. I could live with it as long as Lycett does not miss out on a single game, but it's still largely pointless and it should be an immediate retirement.

My thoughts exactly.

Come on down youthful ruck group for the next 6-10 years :)

Well done Dean ya mad kent

Not sure this is the best option.
We would not be even looking at scrapping Cox if not for Lycett being on our list.
A rotation of rucks would be a better option over the next year and a half.
Other clubs don't get rid of older rucks but tend to collect them.
Thank Christ Cox made the right call

Or because we were rotating him in / out of the side, we forced his hand.

None of this mumbo / jumbo gifting games rubbish.
