Tarrent and Pav !!
What is it with these two? Do they think that they are excused from laying tackles? Tarrent spent all day avoiding the mauls and as for Captain Pav, missed a number he should of got with ease. Our backline was superb or so called super forward line far from satisfactory.

I reckon that you are being a bit harsh there Geoff considering the level of the opposition and the conditions.

Admittedly the ball rebounded far to easily out of our forward line, but to call these boys soft is a bit over the top.

Are you drunk???

Geoff are you watching the same games as me? Ok Pav I can accept but Taz's hardness and tackling has been a revelation thus far. Before the Ade game he was equal 3rd in our tackling stats.

Pav's wasnt 100% on Sunday as well. He apparently got a knock in the ribs or some and was in discomfort. Thats what I heard anyways, not sure if its true or not.
Tarrant did plenty of hard stuff, plus basically set up webster for the winner.
Are you watching the right matches Geoff?

I am only commenting on what I see and thats what I saw. Too many easy tackles missed.

Taz spotting Bell with the foot pass and Webster with the tap won us the game. His goal in the first quarter was pretty handy too.

Geoff, are you one of those supporters that just yells obscenities at the players?

Tarrant's defensive pressure in the forward line has been top notch. I don't see how anyone could complain about what we have seen from him in the first 5 weeks, well except for a few shots on goal several weeks back.

lol a bit harsh I reckon, mate. That was probably the first game where Pav hasn't looked superhuman.

Tarrant has been doing plenty of the hard stuff.

Taz has been really good with the one percenters, unfortunately at times I think Pav should take a leaf out of Taz's book.

Pav is great but I feel at times he plays like Matty Richardson, complaining if the ball is not delivered lace out. Stop complaining, make the ball your object and hit it hard and make every opportunity a winner.

Pfffft ..please..
Pav has never had a on field tantrum like big richo... never has ever

I agree. Pav needs to improve his second efforts and defensive pressure. Too often he doesn't chase and tackle.

Wake up Geoff!

1) Tarrant has been one of the best tacklers in the team this year.

2)Our forward line pressure was excellent on the weekned.

3) Nearly half of our entries into into the forward 50 were marked by Adelaide's spare men in defence. You can't tackle a bloke who has marked it Geoff...we got enough trouble doing that in the Essendon game.

Agreed about Taz. I reckon Pav has a reason to get mad about the delivery into the forward line though, that's one thing that hasn't improved over the years. The ball gets bombed in far too often for my liking.

Isn't it funny how a change of club can change the attitude of a player. At Collingwood if the ball wasnt delivered to Tarrant perfectly, or things didn't go to plan he would practically give up ( or so it seemed )

Change to freo, and even though he hasn't lit the world up with his scoring, his one percenters have been outstanding. He is chasing, running hard, creating space and generally working well as a TEAM PLAYER ( not something that immediatly springs to mind when you think of Tarrant)

He looks good in the forward line, and i suspect the double team of pavlich and tarrant will create BIG headaches for some teams....

bit of a pity farmers "unavailable" though.................:p

I dont see why we have Pavlich and Tarrant in the same sentence as Soft as Butter?? Have you watched any game this year?? I havent seen anyone work harder than Tarrant this year, dont go by what you see in the paper the next day ie. kicks, handballs etc. If you are at the game check out the 1 percenters he does. Chasing, tacking, sheparding, blocking, spoiling, creating space.

We had 73 tackles against adelaide, i dont think too many tackles were missed and i doubt pavlich and tarrant gave up on anything.

Welcome back Geoff.

Aren't you the guy that used to get on here and hammer Schwabby and Connolly, and say they'll be the ruin of us all?

And I think Geoff is right. I didn't lay any tackles on the weekend and I'm as soft as butter. Especially around the middle.

Thats one element of his game Pav needs to improve on, i think he tends to look at the umpires a bit much too. Yes, he does get absolutely scragged week in, week out with no free kicks granted, but looking at the umps isn't going to help his cause. Tarrant on the other hand has been super with his second efforts, diving on the ball etc, hes been great. Pav looks a tad brittle at times. perhaps he is still a little worried about getting hurt laying a big tackle?

thats what i think it is. he chases well but i think he is wary of the fact that his shoulders may pop out at any moment

dont know what your on about geoff, tarrant has been absolutely fantastic, his running, tackling shepherding has been superb. you couldnt possibly question tarrant, and as for pav, the guy has been our best player in virtually every game for the last 4 years, he had a bad one on the weekend, but i wouldnt want to be brisbane because a player as good as pavlich never has two bad games in a row. if you are going to point the finger, point it at walker, gilmore and headland, they are the players avoiding the hard work
