Trade Steven Armstrong and our first/second round selection for Jonathon Hay (Hawthorn).

Thoughts...

Good idea. He doesn't seem happy at Hawthorn but he may want to return to WA. He would really help the backline though. He's 26 this year and although he wouldn't be arouind in probably 4-5 years he would give players such as Rivers and Fergy plenty of advice and help down back. I'd definitely do that trade.

solution to backline... midfield playing well..

Spot on. The trouble is in our midfield. No matter who we have down there, if our midfield allows teams to run around wherever they please, no backline from any team could stop them.

Rivers, Ferguson, Bizzell and Wheatley are more than capable when our midfield plays accountable footy. Our guns like Green, Bruce and Moloney need to start paying some respect to their opponents by manning up around the ground, and playing for the team. They are gun players, but they can't rest on that.

Solution is for the midfield to lift.

And anyway, I don't want Jon Hay. Over rated. Armstrong will end up in WA at the end of the year though.
