Domenic Berry could have been someone, except he wasn't given the same opportunities as a Dunstall. A pity, as he was a very accurate kick.

Ahh... good times. :p

I remember domenic's one and only game v west coast at waverley ... circa 1992.

One shot for goal and it hit the post.

I used to get to the reserves games at about quarter time just to watch him play. Started at Number 46 ?? (or 48) then went to the number 27.

Stokes did a knee playing for Box Hill at the end of 2009 and was neither promoted to the senior list nor retained as a rookie at the end of 2010, after spending the year rehabbing his knee.

From memory, Stokes was recruited as a bit of a security blanket for Rioli (he's very close to Cyril).

I disagree. Seeing Stokes playing for the Darwin Buffalos he was very much an inside midfielder with pace. His tackling was exceptional. I believe he was never to be an AFL standard forward pocket. He was meant to be a mid. We played him out of his position and unfortunately injury cut him down before he could prove his worth in the guts. He is now in the Sanfl playing for Sturt. A top bloke. A shame what happened with his knee.

Brett O'farrell - Really liked the look of him, injuries ruined him I think.
Rumour from somebody who used to have some good information, O'Farrell used to try and cheat the skin fold tests. Would not keep himself in the best nick and then try and starve himself and work it all down when the tests were coming. Did some sports reporting just after he finished.

Is Gary Moss playing in the WAFL these days? I liked the cut of his jib. Others won't agree, but I was disappointed when he was delisted. I particularly recall a game in Tassie where he had a real crack..?

And also for giggles, thought I'd give my "mediocre Hawks 22" a go. And yes, they would beat Melbourne I reckon.

Came third in East Perth's B & F this year.

Thurgood as the sub !?!!?! This is an outrage !!! :D

That team may struggle to get the job done ... Trelevan was a good footballer though.

I'd swap Miller, who was a specialist forward pocket (in theory - he was really poor as a player) and Beau Dowler, who Hawthorn did occasionally play on the wing.

I'm very surprised you couldn't find a place for Thorp amongst those 22 players. He could even be captain-coach, like he is in the TFL for the South Launceston Bulldogs.

Yeah probably just because I disliked him (Thorp) so much. I mainly picked this side on a combination of guys who battled hard when we just didn't have the cattle (Trelevan, Krummel etc) and the rest, players I actually thought might be the goods at one stage or another, but never really came to much.

I really thought Collica was going to be a great player. Went alright at West Coast I know, but still thought he was going to do more than he did.

These lists do make you realise how tough it is to make it on the big stage eh? Just realised I've left out the likes of Nick Ries and Adrian Cox and for all the different guys that have came through Hawthorn and played a few games before getting cut, there's likely the same amount from every other club.
