Late Night Host Update!

We're a third of the way through the count, and three songs are right out in front fighting for glory, whilst at the other end there are also three songs contesting the Billy.

So that's three, three and three, or half of:

This post 2007 cover is about half as good, so it all makes sense.

Dissapoint no one took the opportunity to nom a bit o' Sunn O)))

You know what they say, turn up 15 minutes late to a Taylor Swift concert and you miss 5 songs. Turn up 15 minutes late to a Sunn O))) gig and you miss 5 notes.

Seriously though.
Wthe * is it with metal bands and endless violence/gore/satanic imagery etc?

Example 1 of 16 million-
Band: Cannibal Corpse
Song: Meathook Sodomy (* with a knife pt 2)

Gee that sounds like a lovely happy tune, ill grab one copy for me and one for my Auntie as a birthday prezzie.

Most every metalhead ive known has been a harmless pussycats though (with the exception of one campaigner who used to carefully cut the eyes out from the pics of chicks in his porno collection)

Ok, so Gangsta rap isn't exactly Mary Poppins greatest hits but at least its good clean violence, even the horrorcore stuff is quasi humorous.

There are some strange characters around. Especially in Scandinavia.

There's a bit of a current trend in taking the piss of said metal image. Brojob and Infant Annihilator are two bands that come to mind.

I havent seriously listened to metal in over 30+ years. My bands were Iron Maiden and others from that British period of the late 70s and early 80s.

Cant say Ive missed too much.
The other one that comes to mind from that era - even though they formed years earlier - was Judas Priest.

I originally nommed a “new” Judas Priest song (I spammed it earlier in the thread )
Surprised that there’s no Metallica /Iron Maiden /Judas Priest on this list

You don't come across as a metal head.

Had a brief listen to the playlist and I have no idea what songs to vote for, most of the songs sound the same to me.

Might have to use this technique to pick them.

Pick me, pick me!!

I’m really not
BUT I can find songs I like from each genre , and that includes one of my least favourite genres in metal

I appreciate the variation within metal and like the instrumentals /sometimes even vocals , it’s mainly screaming that I dislike .
I don’t go out of my way to listen to metal but due to musical friends and ex boyfriends, I have probably had much more exposure to it than a genre I often vote for in this contest and occasionally nom (country)

I have even been to an Iron Maiden concert before ......

Replace Iron Maiden with Pendulum and it’s true of you too bahahaha

The Iron Maiden concert in the 2000s was a “birthday treat” , just to rub more salt into that wound

Wouldn’t have survived either of the above without my trusty earplugs .
