MAN. Why is it every morn i get the paper and a coffee, sit down and start to read from the back, then spit coffee all over my desk? Almost everyday there havin a dig at the Pies. I know its to be expected, but CMON! Its GOTTA stop sooner or later. This run home thing is ridiculus. Its a draw system based on the NFL. How can we have anythin to do with it? We have had a pretty challanging season with playing our first 8 games, 6 being finishers in the top 8 last year (or close to that anyways) Anyways guys, just have to vent my frustration. Sympathise, just remember Jaiboy the so called 'news' media is essentially fiction for all intents and purposes. The only bits I really regard as being relatively factual are the weather reports, sports scores and stock prices, the rest is the figment of some journalists imagination or advertising spin loosely based on fact. It is like those movies were they say "the following is based on a true story" just because the papers and news don't have that disclaimer doesn't make it any less true. If it helps your blood pressure keep in mind that all this Pie hate is free publicity. If people actually really believed that Collingwood Football Club was part of the Axis Of Evil and that Eddie is the antichrist we wouldn't have the biggest crowds in the league. Thanks media, becuase you still haven't realised that most basic of truisms, any publicity is good publicity.

Mark Stevens wrote about it last week and Rohan Connelly did a piece on it yesterday. Mark is obviously a bit precious about anyone stealing his 'state the friggin obvious' stats analysis niche.

What shits me is that according to his 'Run Home' ladder, Brisbane Lions are third last ie third most difficult. If at the start of the year you told anyone they had to finish the year with Coll, Carl, Kang, Haw, Geel among their last 7 weeks, you'd take it every day of the week. The fact is that now all bar Carlton have exceeded and eclipsed the 'experts' pre-season expectations, and it's viewed as a tough draw. It's not about luck of the draw, it's about those teams improving out of sight.

Maybe Mark should do a statistical piece on how far off the experts pre-season rankings were this year. Bunch of nuffies.

If ANY agency wants to sell newspapers, they write about Collingwood. Thats a known fact. When theres something about Collingwood, more papers sell.
If you think Im saying this because Im a Collingwood supporter, you're wrong. My parents own a Milkbar. Everytime there is a few things about Collingwood, ie; Didak. Ie; Today, about Bucks. We sell out of papers quickly. EVERYTIME there is heaps of things about Collingwood, we sell out. Not a coincidence, its a fact.
