He was in terrific form before the arm injury (you prick, Fyfe).
Once that heals fully, he'll be back to invaluable.

His injury this year combined with us most likely not playing finals this year and next makes it impossible

We’d have to make the Grand Final this year and next for him to beat the record and I think he’d be beating it on Grand Final day

But my maths is probably off on that one
 
I could see in Pendlebury's second season, which eventuated in 2007, that he had the makings of a footballer that would be around for over a decade. Here he is in 2024, and he is set to embark on his 20th season in 2025. He has exceeded everybody's expectations in the two decades he has been at the club.

If interchange goes to a straight out 5 players with caps, I don’t see why there is a rush to retire him or Steele unless there is a clear player ready to take over from them or they lose interest in playing.

They don’t have to play every home and away game. 16 plus finals will do

Does anybody remember after our win against Carlton in round 23 in 2022 (When we knocked them out of the 8) when Pendles got asked in an interview if he felt sorry for Carlton and he replied with ‘Not Really’.

I spent ages trying to find the clip but I still couldn’t find it. That was a certified classic Emblebury moment! Hopefully it’s relevant again after Saturday night.

I marvelled at the tales of Gordon Coventry, I stood in awe as I listened to the fearless deeds of the games first enforcer, Albert Collier. As a young boy growing up, I was held in the arms of The Prince of Full Backs Jack Regan and was rendered speechless in the presence of Bob Rose. I saw the career of the most talented footballer of all time, John Greening, come and go as quickly as it started, ended by an act of cowardice. I saw Thommo enforce the contest and Billy rule the skies. I saw Fabulous Phil do things that no other player could, and I was mesmerised by a 19-year-old kid called Daicos who was the games first magician. I saw Shawy will his way to 300 and the life of my mate and our greatest wingman ever in Pants torn away at the age of 26. I saw Bucks with sheer relentlessness and an iron will pick our club up on his back and force his way into the conversation of being the best Pie of them all. As I reflect on being a 50 plus year member of our great club I must now look back and ponder on who is the greatest Pie of them all. A skinny kid from Sale, with a basketball background now stands alone at the top of the Black and White Mountain as the Greatest Footballer to ever pull on the Black and White stripes. A Collingwood immortal. [PLAYERCARD]Scott Pendlebury[/PLAYERCARD] the greatest Magpie of them all.

As far as career goes no one compares to SP. 400 games is hard to wrap your head around. Insane.
Happy for him.

Just as a side note (pun intended) - I noticed in the clip above with the 3 coaches talking about Pendles, the wonderful pass to Sidebottom in the 2010 replay.

And then it hit me - Sidebottom has scored the last Collingwood goal in both Grand Finals. What are the chances?!?
