Plays at my WAFL team (East Fremantle) but never seems to take a match by the scruff of the neck. (Mind you, the turnover of players at East Freo with different players from the AFL having to slot in with youngsters each week makes for a haphazard game plan).

At Eagles level he seems quite mobile, but I can't really recall any great highlights.

I've heard talk of recruiting Marcus Drum from Fremantle. Spangher would be the better pick of the two, but I can't see him doing anything that Stack, Everitt, Reid, Tiller or O'Keefe can't do.

The games I have seen Spangher play for the West Coast, he doesn't look like a world beater I have to say.

IMO it is a waste of time going after players that can't get a game with their team that may be a 1 in 10 chance of becoming a better player with us. I would rather put the time and energy into the young KPP's we have at the moment and make sure that we develop them, and they don't stagnate. That should be our primary focus.

Unless the player from another club is a proven player or a huge chance of making an impact, IMO it is self defeating. We give up a third round draft choice for a third stringer, and they are delisted in two years. Where is the benefit in that?

Family friend tells me it will happen other that I do not have any concrete evidence

Have you seen his girlfriend. Ive heard about batting out of your league but Spangher is taking it to a whole new level. Hes batting out of his sport. For that reason alone I cant see him going unless Eagles give him a shove in that direction

Saw him at the shops one day with his arms draped around two glams. Instantly became my favourite player. ;)

Lies and slander. I mean who couldnt get some arm candy looking like this

He is aggressive, hard at the ball and rebounds well. More a rebounding defender or potential to play on the wing than KP back. His disposal in games can be good all game or quite poor, but this inconsistency is not surprising for a young defender. Biggest problem is when one out with a key forward, can be beaten one on one. I am not sure if this is merely down to experience, but this combined with the fact he is willing to take the game on and run the ball out of the backline makes me think he is not suited to a KP role. Still in a solid defence I think he could develop into a very good player albeit not the star. Also has a tendency to hammer Buddy. Like I said very aggressive (but channels it well and dosn't hand away free kicks) and I hope he can find a permanent spot in our backline. EDIT: sorry the text is not broken up better but BF is stuffing up for me, when I post or save changes it eliminates paragraphing between lines of text.

This is getting beyond the joke now (not having a go specifically at you Insight).

Every year we search other teams lists for KPFs that have been overlooked and every year we fail to realise that there is a reason why these players aren't playing for their clubs.

They are not good enough!

Damon White, Tim Boyle, Adam Campbell are all most likely going to be delisted by years end. They were last years crop of no-hoper suggestions. This year its Marcus Drum, Cameron Cloke, etc. We have better young key position players on our list now.

Can someone please name me one team who has a great key position forward that they didn't draft. It just doesn't happen unless the forward is already a proven commodity. So unless you want to give up Cooney and/or Griffen and Higgins for a Pavlich or a Fevola, we need to have patience with some of the young blokes and hope we can steal one with a midget forward line.

Wilson is good enough. Has shown more at WAFL level than our other forwards. Is still very you and probably has quite a bit more potential as a KP defender than Spangher. Our problem was list space, where we had no room to elevate him and a lot of young KP players coming through (Kennedy, Brown, Mckenzie). Since playing forward this season has been excellent with 5-6 goals in each match but more importantly getting quite a few marks 20 odd possessions and having 10 odd shots on goal. He has just been elevated for Shuey who has been put on the LTI and I am sure most Eagles fans at the moment would be wholeheartedly against trading him. The only reason why I think it would be a good fit for you guys is he is competing against Mitch Brown and Kennedy for a spot and both look very likely types. Add to that our frustrating obsession with Hansen (who knows we may just be giving him a last chance) and it may be difficult for him despite his potential.

What would he cost us in a draft pick?

I think that is probably a good question. They really want to elevate him hence putting Shuey on the LTI, but I am not sure if there will be a spot at the end of the year even if Fletcher retires as he is on the vets list and they seem to be reluctant to let Hansen go. To be honest he has had a bigger impact at WAFL level than Mckinley, Hansen or Kennedy as a forward but whether this will translate to AFL, I am not sure. He may have to be redrafted then elevated next year so there is a good chance if he performs really well he will be used as trade bait but because of the situation, maybe for an up grade of a second/third rounder. Could end up being a massive steal and its a testament to his good form that they have found a way to get him games despite it being very difficult to fit him into our forward line.
