Mobbers, good that you ask that question. I don't have an answer for you.

I will give you a run down starting with the fourths.

The Fourths - Under 14's are in the 5. They played in the finals last year for the first time in a few years, but this year they have improved.

The Thirds - Under 17's are playing good footy. They have won 2 and lost 2 matches. They follow a different draw to the seniors as some of the teams don't have Thirds teams and Fourths teams.

Seconds - We are much better than what we were last year. I didn't play the first game as it was too early for me to come back from the knee reco last year. We knocked off last years Premiers. Second game, I returned and we lost to Brokelsby by 3 points. A game in which we should have won, but we didn't. Against Burrumbuttock, we drew, which we shouldn't have. We were up by 8 points with 5 mins to go and let the game slip. I have no idea what happened. Against Walbundrie, we destroyed them by 110 points. Last round, we travelled to Osborne where we won. I played back down defence and was our best player. I was previously playing in the forward line to get me use to the game again, moved down back and played brilliantly. Osborne are a potential finals team and we knocked them off. If we can knock off Holbrook this week, we are looking a real threat. So, the seconds should be 5 from 5, but 3 wins, 1 loss and a draw we have and are 5th on the ladder. The other 4 teams above us are on 16 points and we are on 14 points.

Firsts - What can I say. 5 from 5. Sensational stuff. In the 1's, only Lockhart and Walla are undefeated at the moment. Similarly, to the seconds, if we beat Holbrook this week, we are a real threat this year with the first 6 wins.

I have a stat for you in the first grade. Walla were the third team in 5 years to beat Osborne at Osborne. Osborne were last years premiers. So to say the win was a good win was an understatement.

After 5 rounds, everything is looking good. We can't get ahead of ourselves or it will all fall apart. Holbrook this week which is an important game because it will set up our season basically in both grades. The Walla ones have 3 good quality players to come back. The Seconds will get 3 of the ones players. The seconds have 3 or 4 players to come back. Our depth is good.

The Hume league this year is evened out. No teams are really dominating. Other years, Holbrook and Osborne have been the powerhouse sides of the comp in the ones and twos.

I don't know the last time I've seen Walla playing excellent football.
