I reckon its a backward step

It's probably the safest option. We've seen untried coaches like Buckley, Voss, Neeld, Watters all fail despite being highly regarded at the time. If Eade gets the gig, expect a loyal assistant to be groomed for the job beside him. I don't mind that.

Why really badly? I'm not 100% sold on him but worst case scenario I don't think it could be that bad.

I don't know. Just how I process it, I guess. It's hard to see us plateau and manage the same sort of result as this year. Either we'll shoot up or the players won't buy into Eade and his style of Coaching, and we regress.

Am also petrified about Ease but I find it extremely hard to believe that he has lost all ability to innovate game plans and coach. Pretty funny to suggest that about a 56 year old.

With all that said, it's up to Blight and Ashcroft to find a Coach they think will have the best style, not only game-plan wise regarding our list but also with their ability to keep ahold of the players in general. They would have(should have) learned many lessons after Bluey.

If Eade is to be appointed, then Ashcroft and Blight clearly think he has a game plan that suits our list, and a personality and Coaching style that won't isolate them.

Here are a few ideas of who should be up there in contention:

Brett Ratten - Did better than expected with list assembled (Doesn't want job)
Matthew Knights - Attacking game plan, doesn't bend to pressure, also non-stop work (Not mentioned in talk)
Mark Thompson - 1 PF and 3 GFs in 6 yrs after first 4 yrs spend rebuilding ("Still" in contention, the timeline mentioned is somewhat similar to GCS so stay tuned)
Mark Williams - Has history turning fortunes quickly (Only been considered recently on BF)
Leigh Tudor - Has similar credentials as Ken Hinkley

I still don't think Bluey should have been sacked. I know he lost the players, but I'd have been happy to move them on (depending on how many). But out of this mess, to land Eade... I'm excited. He's a real footballer's footballer in terms of mentality. Watch us toughen up. Watch us use our speed. Our skills will improve. We will play the percentages. We will win more game-day situations. He's not the messiah, but he's a very good coach.

He wouldn't have been given the director of coaching job at Collingwood to watch and guide Bucks if he wasn't up there with the best. Collingwood could afford to pay whoever whatever they like. If it's him I hope he insists on installing his own coaching team and being provided with sufficient resources as part of taking the contract.

Hope your right man. I am positive but have my scepticism.
