So, Essendon to keep Hird. If Bomber follows through with what he said during the EFC B&F, he'll be leaving the club. The cards are in GC's hands.

I disagree, but that's just me. :) Agree to disagree! Haha.
Fair enough, but next game I will buy you a beer in The Lounge and we will watch them for the first quarter ahead of the ball together and see if I'm smoking crack or not

My perfect outcome:

Bomber to sign with GC for 3 years. Bring in an assistant coach of the club's choosing to succeed the senior coach position when Bomber leaves, similar to the MFC scenario at the moment with Roos and Goodwin.

Once the head/assistant coach situation is sorted, clear out the other coaching positions and fill them accordingly*

* This involves deporting Josh Fraser to West Africa, never to return again.

did anybody else just hear the interesting conversation on trade radio about Rodney Eade Coaching the suns next year. apparently eade has a long working relationship with scott clayton dating back to the early 90s

They said something about them working together in 1991, Eade was the reserves coach of the Brisbane Bears, and he led the Bears to the reserves premiership in that season. and continue to work together for a few more years after.

thoughts on Rodney Eade coaching the suns next year ?

All the quality assistants are at other clubs and will not be released to take another assistants job elsewhere, see Dew to Melbourne last year

Eade would be pretty settled and on good dollars as Collingwood's director of football. Plenty of coaching jobs had opened up since he joined Collingwood but he never threw his hat into the ring which to me indicates he doesn't have the desire to coach again. Plus it would probably lead to a pay cut.

Plenty of players have retired this year, so I guess that's an option too. But yeah, what you've said is definitely an issue.

I'd never considered him. I'd take him in a heartbeat. Over Thompson. He took an extraordinarily average Bulldogs list and culture and turned them into genuine challengers and perennial preliminary finalists.

Nah, he threw his hat in the ring last year actually. He's on record as saying that he does still have te desire to coach again.

I agree it's unlikely though.

RODNEY EADE (Western Bulldogs)
Though Eade had got the Bulldogs to the three previous preliminary finals, the club terminated him on August 17 2011 with three rounds remaining. Paul Williams was installed as caretaker coach for the balance of the season. Williams on debut was successful with a 60-point thrashing of the last-placed Port Adelaide, 24.13-157 to 15.7-97 the following Sunday at Football Park in R22.
Brendan McCartney was appointed coach on September 19, 2011.

And from Wikipedia:

The Western Bulldogs did not progress well in the 2011 season, being placed twelfth on the ladder. Following a big loss to Essendon by forty nine points in Round 21. It was announced on 17 August 2011, that Eade's contract would not be renewed at the conclusion of the 2011 season. The following day, Eade stepped down as coach of the Bulldogs. He was replaced by caretaker coach Paul Williams for the remainder of the 2011 season.

On 3 October 2011, Eade was appointed by Collingwood to the position of Football and Coaching Strategist, replacing outgoing coach Mick Malthouse, who had originally planned to step into that role after the 2011 season.

Eade coached the Australian International rules football team in October/November 2011 in Australia.

Eade coached 314 games of AFL football placing him second on the all time AFL/VFL list of most games coached without a premiership, behind John Northey (315 games).

Oh God. That Kirk video is horrible.
it's like he started to introduce something in his way, but the producers thought different.
Hey! Wait! What about that little seen story that Caro wrote last week saying that he was gone? You telling me she made that shit up?
Just clutching at straws again, for the millionth time. Anyone gonna call for Caro's head. #CutCaro

I'm not sure Kirk will coach us. I heard Mel Gibson called after seeing that vid. Wants to shoot a Braveheart remake.
