The longer this coaching appointment gets drawn out , it gets me thinking the club is waiting for Bomber Thompson to return from holidays.

Half of our coaching committee was tied up in trade week. I would expect an announcement in the next fortnight

Experimental is correct in that a coach was to be appointed before the players resume training in November.

Luke Beveridge is firming with the bookies for good reason. Was development coach at Collingwood 2009-10 and helped that list to a flag. Took a year off and then Clarkson chased him hard and got him to the club in 2012 where he constructed their current backline to 3 consecutive grand finals. Coached in the Ammos before this and developed a list to win C, B & A grade flags in consecutive years. Amazing effort. Beveridge was hunted by StKilda mid year to head their director of coaching spot but he was allowed to see out the year at Hawthorn. Few of you need to understand that the board doesn't want Bomber & Dew doesn't want us.

Now the trade and FA period is over i would expect the media to throw up some crazy names for the job. Let's just hope the board makes the right decision they still have plenty of time.

After the Wallabies coach resigned last night, combined with the NRL coaching sackings/retirements this year and the AFL coaches too, this is one **** up of a year for Australian sports coaches.
