Nah, about Bomber?

Thompsons manager contacted us before Bluey was even sacked. It coincided with the same night as their best & fairest. Not receiving the news they expected, Bomber then makes a passionate speech about his future role at Essendon. Have also heard some at AFL HQ want us distancing ourselves from the ongoing ASADA business that will still play out. Hamilton's story for once may be right. I'll just say gut feel if you want a direct answer. I'm not seeing anything at all suggesting we want him.

I watched an interview with Beveridge. He is so hard to get a read on.

• Was staying at Geelong, gone 2 months later
• Would never coach again
• Would coach but for only 1 year
• Will only stay if he is head coach

Are you sure? I chucked a bet on Dew just before it closed, and Bomber was up at $16 or so. Bolton was the lowest at $3-4 IIRC. Definitely wasn't Bomber though.

Bolton was $3 equal fave with Beveridge when it closed. Bomber was $12 before it closed but may have gone out further to $16, not sure. I'll try and find the link to check.

I can't cut and paste the link for some reason. 'AFL trade markets and coaching updates' into google got me the site dated yesterday at some stage. It had Bomber at 10's and Beveridge at $4, behind Bolton at $3. The odds did change again before they suspended the market.

He speaks so slow. He looks like he thinks about every word that comes out of his mouth. It is just so hard to get a read on what he would be like as a coach though. Certainly has the creds.

Yes he was very deliberate in his speech. Bomber he ain't! Looks like he holds his cards close to his chest. Interesting. Has been highly regarded for awhile now though and comes from a great system in Hawthorn, that's a big plus. We need to learn from the best.

Chris Pelchen was renowned for building Hawthorn's list from 2005 as list manager and quit to run St Kilda as head of football in 2013. He headhunted Beveridge to oversee Alan Richardson as Director of Coaching mid 2014, to start in 2015. Pelchen swears by Beveridge and the Hawks only released him as it is a more senior position.
