Bailey was the one who posted that comment, and made the sexualised comment about Caro over the Max Holmes costume.

He's now ruined future Mad Mondays for the rest of Geelong because he can't stop saying or doing stupid things.

How was that a ‘sexualised’ comment about Caro? Totally disrespectful, but not close to sexualising her.

Some additional notes by Turner:

Oliver is less likely as he will have more suitors given Melbourne’s willingness to pay a significant portion of his salary.

We are not interested in Simpkin.

One year extension for Tex likely to be announced at the bnf.
Article headline says we would look at Oliver if Petracca doesn’t happen, so what does the article actually say?

Turner knows his stuff. Think we can almost close the book on Trac coming here.

Its definitely an interesting situation at Melbourne.

I have never seen a player on a contract been granted permission to seek a trade and meet with other clubs, only for the original club to act like its going to be an impossible feat to get him unless you give up 5 prime players, 6 first rounders etc. its borderline pathetic. I think Melbourne has made a huge error to be honest. Sure they want the best deal as he is a star player.

From my understanding of the rules, Petracca can claim to the AFL issues with the club that he can no longer fulfill his contract at Melbourne due to issues that cant be resolved and the AFL steps in and negotiates his trade away from Melbourne. I could be wrong but when he was seeking a move last year the media were talking about this.

So if thats the case and that is correct, not sure Melbourne has a leg to stand on to call off negotiations and demand he stays. I dont think they can do what they did. Anyone here work in clubland and know player contracts?

Port just last year with Houston...then it all fell apart when he picked Collingwood...lol

Since you joined in 2018, who were you!??
Here you go mate - we joined the same week in 2004! Some funny old threads below. Complaining in 2004 about it’s a long time between flags haha. Will check out more in the off season but where has that 21 years gone….

Some of the old names still here- KaneMcG, Crowked, Cap and a few lost along the way like Stiffy, Macca23, Rave Slave and the Mad Dog

Mad dog was often mad

As long as my ass points to the ground I will never agree to throwing a season to get PDPs. Have a bit of ********ing pride for ********s sake - something none of those sorry ********ing losers Richmond/Hawthorn/Bulldogs have.
We have a short but proud history and we will be back as a force. One of the reasons I raised the issues I did yesterday was to remind people that there are no quick fixes, there will be no massive clean out at the end of 2005, and that we and other members and supporters need to support the club and be patient.
FFS....we're not even at draft day yet and already we're talking about tanking a season......IMO anyone who doesn't have enough passion to support this club through the thin as well as the thick can ******** off now, buy 15 other scarves...and just pick one each week according to who you think might win.............Don't be coming to high 5 me at the MCG next time we win a flag.

I think you make valid points. If Trac was deadset on getting to us he might consider going down that route. However, if he’s on the fence between us and the Suns, and the path to get him there is a simple trade that they can easily accommodate, while getting to us is going to be a head****, then that would sway a lot of people.

Is there not a 23-34 year old we can just throw the same cash at instead of trac? Powell or somone else 3/4 as good and long term prospect.
We can offer $1.7M for Baily but Brisbane will ask for even more trade capital than Petracca even if he request a trade so wait until next year, getting Oliver on $600K will still give us a chance at Baily next year.

nah you let the manager deal with it. I wouldnt give a shit. You go where you want to go.

From memory, Houston was a little different in that he was out of contract soon, so Port were willing to let him go if the value was right.

Melbourne could well keep Trac for 4 more years if they wanted to play hardball.

I highly doubt they would though. They would not have announced he was seeking a trade if they didn’t intend on making one happen. I’d imagine they are just posturing now.

What was this tweet?
Oliver saying he was flying to Sydney (then the USA) just for a holiday. The rest was him just berating Mitch Cleary at the airport.

It says we will enquire but he is less likely to seek us out than Petracca as he will have more clubs chasing him.

Yeah, the vibe I’m getting is that he can’t decide between either club, so the easiest path is the Suns given their draft capital. If he was hell bent on coming here, then a deal would get figured out.

That article from Turner seems like a leak from the club to concede it’s unlikely to happen.

You can’t just “let the manager deal with it” when it comes to something like that.

As I said, if he wants to be here I’m sure they make it happen.

But if he’s on the fence and one club is going to be a hell of a lot easier to get to then that probably sways you.

Also let’s be honest, if he goes to GC, there’s probably a good amount of AFL endorsements/ambassador payments etc waiting for him.

Quick stop at Bondi to meet with ANB and the boys? ;)

There's nothing to read.

You're being a bit weird about this - people fly between Adelaide and Melbourne for business all the time, and it would be strange to have to stay overnight because the flights are so short and there's so many of them.
The club is likely leaking to Turner to condition fans that Petracca is selecting Gold Coast.

If true then my assumptions were correct.

Doesnt mean he is less likely. A smart manager is going to put as many irons in the fire as possible. So if 10 clubs including us make contact thats what they want. He cant just go, hey Dogs, coming to you! Clubs have to pick him. So now its public, every club half interested is going to chase him. What he will do from there is probably pick the 3 or 4 hed most like to play for to continue negotiations. We have a shot. Excellent list, A deadset superstar in Curtin coming through and a list profile that will push us towards a GF. We have a lot of appeal here.

Have seen a bunch about how bad this draft is. Can you give some insight on just how bad it is and make some comparisons on players in this draft and where they might have been in say last years draft ?? And do you expect it to be a weak as well as a shallow draft ?? So minimal number of picks in national draft ??
I read somewhere that the first five picks of last year's draft would go number one in this year's.
