SpeedStream Router Issue

Hi All,

I Have a SpeedStream 6520 router plugged into my modem where i have a desktp PC plugged into the router by ethernet cable and i have an active internet connection.

I have 2 laptops where i am trying to pick up wireless connections where I can connect to the network, but cannot connect to the internet. It just keeps coming up with local access only.

My desktop is running XP and my 2 laptops are running Vista. Can someone please help its driving me mad. I have had wireless internet working on the laptops at some stage, its as though i can only have one computer at a time running the internet.

Try deleting the wireless connection from the laptop and rebooting the PC.

Also try changing the channel of the wireless freq. on the speedstream.

Speedstreams off memory are 192.168.0.1

Tried deleting the connection on laptop, no go.

What do you mean by changing the frequency? How do i do this?

have you tried turning off the firewall on the laptop?

Are you able to access your desktop via your laptop through the router?

what network program do you use?

Every router is different but there are several (12 I believe) wireless channels. You need to find a way to change this. Could be interference stopping the connection.

Also try calling your ISP.

I have both firewalls turned off.

That site was helpful. I played around with a few things and now i have internet on one of the laptops but not the other. Its as if the router is preventing more internet connections. Any other ideas?
