This just looks terrible, what are people seeing in this? Surely I'm not alone in thinking this is a massive waste of Nintendo's dev money. This will tank.
It's really not that different to what's been before it.It's a new and interesting take on a ridiculously stale genre. The gameplay looks tight and it is showing completely new ways to move.
I have no idea how well it will sell, but the game itself looks quality. If I have a Wii U by then I'll look to buy.
How does it look terrible?
It's really not that different to what's been before it.
For one, the game is still an arena shooter with a territory element, they're just subtracting bullets with paint. The movement isn't completely new either, they're slightly different takes on what's been done before.
Other than that, I think the movement on the camera is too wild which coupled with the lack of reticule will make shooting at range next to impossible and close range looked very awkward too, which doesn't look like that will be overly fun (and I understand why there's no reticule, but that doesn't mean it's a good thing).
On top of all that, we're still looking at an online dominated game on a platform that couldn't get COD to do well on it. At best the audience will be extremely limited, which is off putting enough.
I have a Wii U and don't want to touch this with a 10 foot barge pole. I don't know specifically what this portion of Nintendo have made in the past, but I could think of a billion things I'd rather see them do than this game.
