Suprised there hasn't been a thread made! The line up is insanely good.

The Cure and the Strokes I'm beyond keen to see! Jake Bugg, Violent Soho, the kills, DMA's, Courtney Barnett, City Calm Down, Methyl Ethel and The Jungle Giants... Going to be unreal!

Hopefully I'll be going this year, have never been before. Last seemed to have a stronger international contingent, which shown when you have bloody Flume as a headliner. Probably the only man fault that I have with the lineup is Flume closing the show on Sunday, bit lame that. Stoked about The Strokes, and seeing The Avalanches will be special.

Yeah I really don't get the point of the hype. People sort of talk this festival up but it's been incredibly lazy since the new decade. It used to have one of old campaigner like The Cure but the rest was filled with really vivid, fresh, kind of risky bands. I guess Laneway has taken that mantle and point in the market.

Ultimately though The Strokes are a legendary act you'd want to see. They're fun simply because, in a 18 song set, you actually realise how incredible their top-end songs really are. I saw them in Hyde Park in London last year though so really, what's the rush? No new record, a much inferior sense of excitement, and ultimately a dulling of memory for me.

The Avalanches is an awesome get, however they sort of ****ed it up by playing Primevera and London as well. This would have been huge and a great thing for the country's music scene if it was an exclusive for the year.

Also Flume yeah whatever. Even kids in Albury and Mount Gambier will see him twice this year.

James Blake? Saw him a the Corner in front of 500 people, snuck in too thank you very much, at his absolute peak of popularity and short of CMYK it sort of sucked.

And yeah the undercard is so weak it hurts. It is a terrible, terrible set of bands. It's basically mostly Aussie bands who already play five shows at the Corner and every festival, as well as six token acts nobody really loves and who were here for Laneway this year.

So overrated! Ah ah...

What bands would you have put on the line up then?

Great, solid headliners. Next rung of bands would be (international ones):

Grimes, Whitney, MGMT, Weezer, Warpaint, Wild Nothing, Cullen Omori, Chairlift, The Last Shadow Puppets, M.I.A., Blood Orange, Beck, Charli XCX, Haim. Really, 70% of these are gettable.

The last shadow puppets would have been unreal, the rest... Pretty happy with what we have got.

TLSP's new album is so bad and the novelty wouldn't be that good live. Honestly if you don't think MIA, Haim would be seriously awesome second tier acts you're a galah. Beck is obviously headliner material but still.

You sort of live in 2007 NME land so your indifference towards anything but the painfully shit and nowhere Last Shadow Puppets is no surprise.

Seems a little weak, no?

Agreed. My Facebook has been buzzing and I just don't get it. I like the look of maybe 11 names, but that's not nearly enough, and I don't particularly like many of them.

Good point. Laneway's line-up was fantastic. Was at the Brisbane festival from start to finish and for the whole day and bar about an hour, there was at least 1 set I was interested in.

Ticket system was an absolute joke if anyone hears of any 3 day tickets with camping I'll take 'em
Managed to get 3 day and camping but I was in the green room for almost an hour! Sucks you missed out, hopefully one pops up for you!

the lineup is epic..

Mark lanegan, Courtney Barnett, green buzzard, King lizard, the avalanches, at the drive in, the strokes, the cure, sigur ros, Jake bug,

My issue with it is that there's about 11-12 acts that I like... spread out over 3 days. I had more than that in one day at Laneway. Not many that I particularly love either.

Only sorta got one way I can think of to get tickets considering you can't just pay someone a lot and change the name.

For the re sale I was thinking about paying someone a bit extra to wait and don't put them up straight away just wait a couple weeks and then the second they put them up I'll take them. Reckon that'd work? Only thing I can think of and flights ect are booking so am pretty desperate to get my hands on some

To be honest I've never gone down the resale route myself, usually catch the sideshows if I miss out on tickets. I'll keep an eye out if anyone I know is selling them for you!

Someone wake me up when The Cure sideshow gets announced.
