Vodaphone have come on board in a major sponsorship deal which has alreayd been hinted out on here.

Does anyone know when the new Vodafone deal starts?

Does anyone know when the current Optus deal expires?

I would imagine there couldn't be any overlap and apparently the Saints just had a massive merchandise clearance because of new sponsorhip ie. no longer using anything with Vodafone logos.

Would this mean 2 new sponsors names on the uniforms as early as 2008?

On MMM this morning they said "one of the world's biggest telcom companies". That would be Vodaphone.

$4 mil a year is a lot for a company that doesn't even have an office in Victoria, let alone any flights from here - still, funnier things have happened.

Just passing on what I have heard. I have heard it from 2 very seperate sources, so there must be some truth in it.

Basically what you are guys are saying about a big announcement re a new major sponsor, but that it was one of the world's largest telco companies. I know Vodaphone is old news, but then it is the media - they have been known to sensationalise once or twice before. Apparently they're making a big thing at the moment over the Fed Gov giving the Tiges $2mil to develop Punt Rd, calling it an election stunt even though it was passed about a year ago.

Also the lack of a presence in Melbourne, and total lack of flights, makes the Etihad thing seem unlikely ... but maybe this is going to be their intro into the market.

(You know that really I'm just sick of you guys talking yourselves up so much lately.:))

Actually its the additional 5 million that the federal government is "promising" for the aboriginal development centre that is being called the stunt..........and it is.
Good luck getting that money.:thumbsu:
