Just signed myself up to an internet account for the first time, normally i just use the TAB but i thought the free bet offer was to good to refuse. Ive got a free $200 bet, and i want to make it a winner so that i can try n build the account up before christmas. Has anyone got any idea's/tips on how i should try to build it up. I know the first bet has to be $200 and they take away the initial $200 if you win, so what do you recommend?

Any tips to get the ball rolling?

...Maybe avoid that.

Actually, I joined sportingbet about a 2 and a half weeks ago and got $200 in free bets too. I won both of mine but I put them on about 1.30 odds, so $60. If you're after something better than that in the short term, try and pick out a decent team paying over $2 against a popular NBA team, like the Lakers.

Popular teams tend to get more money put on them which drives their odds down and makes their opponents unreasonably long. That's all the advice I've got.

Will you apologise when the Wildcats sneak past the Kings tonight ? ;)

Villa to cop the full wrath of this guy from about the 65th minute onwards :)

Carlton Cole - Barclays Premier League - 6 (3) for 2 goals :o.

Just got on a little treble tommorow in the basketball:

Pheonix to beat NY
San Antonio to beat Portland
Orlando to beat Lakers

Orlando are the only dangers i'd imagine, playing away they are paying $2.05 against the Lakers, however they have a great away record this year and Lakers havent been going so well. Should pay between $2.50 and $3 to hopefully collect 500-600 which leaves me with 300-400 in the account to build up before christmas.

Wish i got on board Embers or your tip TNBT, but i didnt read them in time!

Im in the form of my life atm. Another collect last night. Im up like 1100 for the week. Cant stop winning. Last night Bimingham +0.5 paid off

Tonight could be worth looking at Over 2.5 goals with Man Utd vs Fulham. Fulhams defence is shocking and there attack at times can be brilliant. Should be a 3-1 or 3-0 result

Got the first 2 legs, scores level with 6 mins to go in the Orlando game. Bit nervous...

Orlando ended up winning reasonably comfortable, Dwight Howard stood tall at the end of the game. Pretty happy with that collect. Thanks for the all the tips guys, keep them coming!

mite have to stick with orlando vs warriors tomorrow, $2.21 straight out ftw GS $1.67

Why does no one bet on the NBL. Its free money. The TAB dont pay any respect to it and just provide the silliest odds on games on occasions ie (Kings 5.50 to beat the Bullets) As long as you have SOME understanding you cant lose

I follow it pretty keenly but haven't really bet on it before. Feel free to post some of your tips :thumbsu:

Completely agree Embers, although seeing as tho i only know anything about the dragons, i'm only interesting in backing them to lose atm. I feel the same way about the NBA. the big teams like the lakers, spurs, cavs, mavs etc are always way too short and teams like Orlando are so long it's rediculous. $2.05 yesterday and $2.20 today against the warriors was too good for me to overlook and i backed them both times.

On Monday, i put $20 on denver to beat my boys Miami @ $1.32, then put the winnings on Man utd to beat Fulham last night @ $1.19, which got up. Put the winnings from that on the Magic today to beat GSW @ $2.20 so now i'm up to $60. For a little extra money for the weekend, I intent to put that $60 on a multi (lakers to beat T-Wolves and Suns to beat Indiana - both paying about $1.30) for a return of over $100. Anyone want to tell me whether they think the lakers or the suns will lose? Or even better, any other games tomoro that are 'certainties?'

Happy punting.

I actually like the South Dragons tonight against the Gold Coast Blaze. Odds of 4 buxs were too good to turn down. IMO the NBL betting only takes into account form over the past few months rather then the past week or 2. They dont take into account the amount of games played in a week either or new signings etc.

Main reason I tipped Wildcats is because the Cats had a ripping week leading up, Sydney had a MUCH more important game 3 days later and were heading into a 3 games in 7 days streak which geniuenly a team will drop a game in.

NBA isnt as easy as the NBL but on the odd occassion you do find stupid odds. I was on the Magic yesterday too. Just escaped that one though in overtime :D. Not like the NBL though which is definetly easier
