Nice offer for the Lexus from IAS:

2011 Derby Day Special

This Saturday place your very first bet of the day (Win only CSP or Fixed Price, internet or m.iasbet.com) on the Lexus Stakes at Flemington (Race 2), and if succesful you'll get a 50% Bonus on your winnings^.
Full details available on the website on Thursday 27/10/11.

Nice.

Green Moon is the bet of the weekend.

Is there a particular reason why Scelto is at such large odds? Seemed to be flying home last week and making some ground on the fav.

I guess horses likes Sabrage, Sangster, Induna were more impressive...Just because Scelto was against Manawanui doesnt make it the best form race for the Derby. The extra 400-500m makes such a difference and how much that improves them cant be read in a formguide.

Scelto may improve more than anyone over that extra distance but he would have to, to get close. What was in front of him was very good, but those he beat home I dont think were much. He should probably be around $40

Im doing my sportsbet tips for saturday, will update them probably a few times before then but at the moment am having trouble with races 8 and 9. Anyone got any ideas?

I have balls of steel and am going to back Zamorar to beat Sepoy.....each way

Since 2006 when this race was moved to Derby Day the winners have come through 5 different races.

Sure Sepoy is a freak compared to past years but history says it's a bit more open than it first looks.

Keen on Temple Of Boom in R8 at 7's but will most likely stand it out in a trifecta with Sister Madly in the first line, thrown in Mid Summer Music in the second line with them and field for third.

2,6/2,6,9/F

Race 9 is a raffle. Maybe Launay.

Cheers Hoffy. :thumbsu:

50's everywhere but the tab. Got 25 e/w at 101-1. Here's hoping for big improvements :)

At this stage BJ I'm working around:

R8: Phelan Ready
R9: Torios Quest

Need to forget runs of both horses last start & I think their form is better than a few of these

all the best

I took $4.60 on Zamorar to place... come 4th by a whisker! I'm still not convinced from watching the screen at Flemington today.

Unprofitable day for me... ran the big favorites into each other but took it a step too far on More Joyous. I'd been calling her unders all week but woke up this morning and had some new found love for her

Had Mourayan circled at odds all week... just couldn't get my head around why it was $26... in the end didn't back it at all, ran a sound $5.30 2nd

Oliver killed em - rolled McEvoy who was $1.50 in jockey challenge

Had the same thoughts and managed to put a few bucks on the place earlier this week - fixed odds were paying $8! Should have gone harder really.

I did my dough on Glass Harmonium last week and couldn't bring myself to back it again this week. It's a frustrating old game sometimes.

Atlantic Jewel's done a hammy.:eek::(

Obviously been pulled out of the Oaks.

Raging favourite Atlantic Jewel has been ruled out of Thursday's Victorian Oaks with a leg injury.
The unbeaten filly racked up her fifth win in Saturday's Group Two Wakeful Stakes at Flemington when she beat the other Oaks contenders by seven lengths.
But trainer Mark Kavanagh's Oaks dream was shattered on Sunday when she was found to have pulled a hamstring, bringing her spring campaign to an end.
