HF: Grant, Edwards, Harvey

FF: Hale, Thommo, Jones

R: Hamish, Wells, Harris

Hansen straight into the 18.
Watt in trouble
Ross a massive chance.

And the Boggler is back!!

From that bench, I'd love to see Ross, Swallow, Campbell and S Thompson picked.

Beautiful, Hansen to play.

I'd go with S. Thommo, Swallow, Ross and Campbell.

ok so out of all them the unlucky 3 are:
Brown,Watt and Harding
and where the hell is Mcmahon and Lower????

Only certainties from that bench are Swallow and Scott Thompson.

Hansen straight in to the 18, named on the wing, is exciting. Heres hoping he really throws himself into the game. I want to see hunger from the kid.

I reckon Campbell and Hunter are the certs.

Agree with NB that Ross and Swallow rounding out the four would be good, but could live with the Boggler getting a game and assuring that Drew spends most of the game back and Hale rucks a fair chunk of the game.

Oh god.
Now, this isn't a direct reflection on Brown, more a concern about our structure and how we stack up; I do not ever want to see Hale, Brown, Petrie & McIntosh on the park at the same time. Leaves us very slow.

Edit : To clarify, I think Petrie and McIntosh are certain starters in our 18 each week. I guess what i'm saying is that Hale and Brown should essentially be competing for the same spot in our team. We shouldn't be playing both of them in tandem with Petrie and McIntosh.

I like that team. I reckon our FF, HF, R division are our strengths.

No McMahon and Lower? two of our most promising midfield prospects, what is going on!

One disturbing thing about Brown being considered this week in a MUST IN GAME, is that he'll keep his spot the following week... I know he is capable but
sure don't trust him to play the game out.. so really, it's 21 players and a pinch hitter that, if he adds to the cause, than good on him, but to play him 30%- 50% game time is a waste. If he really plays out of his skin, like he BELONGS, then, heck, that's just a BONUS for the team but quite rare.

I like surprises though. :)

That is interesting. I'd say it's a combination of niggling soreness/injuries, and a desire to get more match-fitness and awareness into them.
I'd expect McMahon to come into the side before Lower at this stage, in terms of development and team-balance.

I thought from the Werribee reports that Hansen didn't do anything special over the last two weeks. Is he picked on form or just on the name is the big question...

Do we ever pick on VFL form? Brown went back and did nothing last year but was chucked back in. Did he have a job to do and get it done without dominating the game? Maybe he had targets to meet which he completed?

Dunno. Don't much care. Happy he is in the side.

From:

I'd take:

I: Ross, Swallow, Campbell, S. Thomo

I'd prefer two talls and two less-talls in principle - S Thommo, Brown, Ross and Swallow would be fine by me. I felt last year that Thomas and Campbell, given their size and capabilities at this stage, was a bit of overkill.

Hansen straight in on the wing, nice to hear and should be nice to watch.

Watt and no Ross would probably do me.

Brown's a waste.

If Petrie stays back as we all hope, Brown is of much more value than Watt.

I don't agree.

You're using 'Brown' and 'value' in the same sentense. This isn't intended to be stereotypical Brown bagging, but I have watched enough of his games in the blue and white to expect he offers little to no value.

Watt sucked on Monday, as did 12-15 others, but I'd take him over Brown - decoy value or not.
