Why wouldn't they delist some of the other ones that aren't up to standard then? It doesnt seem to make sense to have that many spots dedicated to the one list position unless a couple of them are top liners.
In reality you need 4 small forwards in your best 23 plus a few more in the 2nds.
I think we are just getting our numbers up to the right level.
It is worth mentioning that we have not drafted any small forwards in the first round except Sturt, who is now gone. (Most are rookie, late draft or SSP)
FYI - I don't count Reid as a forward.
We delisted one this year - Delean. Sturt did his ACL and is probably done.
Dudley is really the only genuine forward pocket, before this draft and he was only a SSD pick who has limitations.
Switta, Frederick all get up the ground a lot and not known for kicking goals. Switta is 29 and injury prone.
Bolton plays a lot of midfield time, Reid is a midfielder that played forward as we had no one else.
Murray looks a very good chance to come into the best 23.
Sweid is a mid/fwd, more than likely he plays outside mid or forward flank rather than small forward.
kickett and Ryda Luke are just rookie picks. Both need to improve their dedication.
What are your thoughts on Murray?
If we get too many good players some can play wing, or one through the midfield in bursts.
Currently we have too many one dimensional mids, so really us getting so many in one draft is just rebalancing our list.
