Dodoro hit the jackpot with these 3 players and all 3 are expected to have a big impact on our side in the coming years but let’s have a prediction on who will have the better first year.

I’ll start this off with Devon Smith, I think he will easily be the most consistent of the 3 but for overall impact you could make a case for both Saad and Stringer.

Like what I've seen from Devon.
Stringer has match winning abilities,
I have all 3 in my SuperCoach side at the moment.

You have Stringer in your SuperCoach side? That's one less person to worry about for the $50k at least ;)

I would love to say Devon Smith, but my gut feel is that he will be taking some heat from opposition teams and getting their best stopper each week. The benefit, of course, is that will free up our third mid to do some damage i.e. Zaharakais, Merrett, Raz (in stints) etc.

I think Jake will take a good 18 months to develop into his 60/40 mid/forward role.

So by default, I've picked Saad banging away at his HBF position for the season. As we're (still) horrible at exiting the B50, he will find it harder to bounce his way out of the congestion... but it will be a huge reminder to opposition teams to cover the exits.

In terms of the vote I'd go Smith.

Saad I think will be very consistent and be a regular best 18 player, possibly top 10.
Smith I think will also be very consistent but more like top 5 or just outside.

Stringer could go as high as AA and one of our top 3 players or he could be a top 10 player or he could be a best 18 player. Somewhere in that range which is a big range.

You'd have to say Smith. Stringer probably won't have the consistency that Smith will, and Saad will only be a burst player. Smith will simply find more of it and do more with it. Looking forward to Smith drawing attention to unleash McGrath... who is really keen to dish off to Saady :)

I'm going to buck the trend. I think Stringer might enjoy the split role and feed off the fun of crashing stoppages. Playing 40/60 mid/forward he is a solid chance of going 18 and 2 this year. Smith will find that hard to beat!
That said Smith will almost certainly be a more important structural player for us.

Smith comes in with the better form and has looked the best of the 3 through the JLT.

Still think Stringer develops into a top 10 player in the comp.
Its all down to application. Which isn't too far removed from what people were saying about Dusty a few years ago.

Quibbles on Smith’s durability and Stringer’s consistency have me choosing Saad. Smith has been pretty excellent over the preseason though so I hope he stays healthy (and angry)!

Went with Smith, he just adds class to the midfield and his a goal kicker.

Stringer and Saad might be flasher and may have games where we just go "woweee" but Smith looks like being Mr Consistent!
