Fox should have just copied one of the posts from this thread, at least then they would have spelt Clark correctly. Wood as sub is also just bizarre and makes me think whoever made this didn't watch any of our games this year.
Picking a best 22 this early is really basing it on last season.
We need to see form during the preseason and practice matches to get a good gauge on best team for round 1.
After all, who’s to say 1 or 2 of our draftees won’t be debuting?

Yeah, a few surprises last year and will be again. If Byrnes, Stocker, Windy, Caminiti or Clark make a quantum leap or a new kid ends up jumping out of the blocks it throws a few magnets around. Probably some inevitable injuries too. There should be proper pressure on spots now.

Webster, Ross, Clark and Membrey are the only ones that look a little bit iffy. Phillipou if he has second year blues.

You have to think that with focus on draft last couple of years and coaches targeting speed, players like Ross and Clark are going to transition to 22 - 30 types. Cannot see any scenario they do not persist with Phillipou. In fact he would be one I think most would be expecting takes a reasonable step up this year.

B: Wilkie, Battle, Webster
HB: NWM, Howard, Windhager
C: Hill, Dow, Wood
HF: Pou, Sharman, Henry
F: Butler, King, Owens
R: Marshall, Steele*, Sinclair
I: Crouch, Stocker, Higgins, Hayes
S: Clark

Changes -

Hill, Wood and Henry to rotate (could even throw Pou and Owens there to cause a mismatch on the odd occasion)
Marshall and Hayes, with King occasionally
Sinclair and Windhager (I'm not a massive fan of back half rotations, but think this can/will work)
Dow, Steele, Pou, Owens and Crouch to rotate through the middle.

I can’t wait to see what the Hammer can do after a full preseason.

If he progresses the way I hope, he’ll have that CHF spot ahead of Skunk.

If Members is fit he's way ahead of Hammer.
Maybe Timmy retires at the end of his contract maybe not, but the line of succession is pretty clear.

The way RTB had Tim playing in his few games V's Ratt's way was night and day and a reminder how good he can be.
Personally I'd be happy to see Hammer build at Sandy for a year to learn to hold his marks and play alongside Moose and Keeler to gain some synergy.
Give him 2 preseasons with a few cracks in the 1's along the way and he'll be ready to go hard.
Hammer has saved us a FRDP or the temptation to sell the farm on Bing but l just don't reckon he'll be ready for next year. Happy to be proven wrong though.

I think Round 1 and Round 24 will be very different teams.

From the Fox Sports list which I think is pretty good (with the exception of Wood as Sub, and Hunter Clark(e)'s spelling), I think at least 4 players will drop off, not including injuries.

Some possibilities are:
Webster
Battle
Higgins
Butler
Henry
Sharman
Membrey
Ross
Clark

If this trade & draft period has convinced me of anything, its that Sincs will play midfield in 2024. I haven't posted a squad but he'd be center, ruck rover or rover if I did. He's one of the A-grade mids we've been craving for.
I doubt that. We lose punch out the backline without him and have brought in Dow for clearance work plus Henry and Wilson for run.
We'll probably get more of last season with a bit extra time for Windy, Chito and Pou.
RTB doesn't seem interested in quick fixes.

Dunno how you can say he won’t be ready for next year after what he produced with a few weeks of preseason last season.

I love Skunk but having a 198cm athlete who can seriously play beside Max is super exciting.

I wasn't suggesting he couldn't. Just that he's probably still gonna be a bit raw.

Sinclair won't be a starting midfielder.

Just got an AA selection on half back, play him there. The more stoppage work he did throughout the year, the less effective he was.

If you asked opposition teams if they want him playing half back or midfield, they'd choose midfield every time.

He is definitely good as an impact player late in games when others have spent their tickets, but that's just an added string to his half back role, not his core role.

Personally I think Skunk 100% playes if fit. I know there are extenuating circumstances, but he is too good of a player to leave out

For me that leaves Hayes, Camaniti and Sharman battling for one forward spot alongside King (with Butler and Higgins the smalls, and Pou / Owens rotating through).

All 3 bring something completely different. A fit Hayes makes the most sense structurally. Sharman has produced the most thus far (and can play both ends). Hammer would provide a genuine second KPF target

Which of those 3 play RD1 I think is the most intruiging question we have
