Standing Room At Skilled

I'm gonna be in Melbourne next weekend and was thinking of catching the train down to Skilled to see the Swans hopefully give you guys a fright.


What is the standing room like at Skilled? Is it a fairly unobstucted view of the whole ground? Do they over sell it so you have to be towards the front to see anything? Or can you rock up late and still get a pretty view of the ground??

Personally, I love it.
Cheaper and better atmosphere.
Can be tricky to carry food and drinks through the crowd though...

Get there early-ish and you'll be right, especially if there is no VFL curtain raiser on. As long as you aren't a midget, it provides a great view of the ground which is unique to Skilled, very much like you are on the boundary given the skinny nature of the oval.

i like it went last week and stood up but if ur planning on sitting down at the breaks bring a cushion or something to plonk ur arse on coz u will get uncomfortable if u dont otherwise great atmosphere cheap and u have a good view on the ground better than sitting below were u cant c the other end of the field

Best place to watch the footy. Better atmosphere and a good view. I usually stand right next to the new stand on the 50 meter line.

Will be shattered when they get rid of the standing areas

Its fine I was there against melb, great view, surprisingly. Good atmosphere too.
Well worth the road trip!

Same. Been standing there since '93'. Might have to bow to an inevitable relocation soon though.

Not really. Sometimes I'll take a step sideways & pretend the bloke standing next to me isn't really there.

If you're getting there that early just park at the Sawyers Arms Hotel they've got a car park out the back and you should be sweet because we're playing an interstate team. 5 minute walk to the ground.

I always park in East Geelong near the Comme d... whatever the hell it's called pub. Free and only 5-10 minutes walk. Also good to have a pint or two after the game.
