3 from Anthony
2 from Cloke
2 from Wood
2 from Dawes

9 out of 13 goals coming from our talls, what a great combined effort from the tall timber of the Collingwood FC. Malthouse definitely pulled it off...again.

I think Anthony has found is feet.

Cloke seems to be still struggling or he is playing a much different role. Just doesn't have the same impact as last year taking those massive strong marks and kicking big goals from outside 50. It's annoying to see him have such a bad year after his copeland. He showed so much promise but he can't find his feet this season. Could be down to a bad preseason perhaps?

that being said...there were 2 or 3 occasions where he literally made me pull my hair out. WHAT WAS HE THINKING WITH THOSE HANDBALLS GAHHH!

overall though it was a really impressive performance by him

also...what a kick wood has on him...far out, great technique and he took some good grabs too. lovin the big pie boys at the moment

Cloke was a very important link.
Playing Centre Half Wing Middle ( a new position?).
He just has to make every shot a goal and he'll be golden again.

I think we have our best mix with talls and small's playing last night. What happens when Fraser comes back and does N. Brown get back in?

Jack kicked the goals he should have

But his unselfish play is often quite stupid, some of his handpasses are comical

Jack did play well though (better hair too), and cloke got some goals to add to his work rate, Dawes looked lively and ive had my say on wood

Add to that medhurst doing some fine middle/HFF work

I thought Cloke played very well last night. And Anthony seemed to have got his kicking back and I thought he had the absolute right idea with the handballs and was just a tad unlucky.

Was really dissapointed with daisy though... seemed to pull out of every contest. And Johnson and O'Bree constantly seemed to turn the ball over with every kick on a night they were instructed not to do indiscriminate things.

I think we've got just the right balance in the side at the moment, in terms of talls and smalls. Not sure what we do when Fraser is available again (either this week or next?). We have to retain Wood in the side, surely, so do we play both Fraser and Wood? I think we should, but Fraser seems to play his best when he's the only ruckman. I like Dawes in the side at the moment too, as he is another tall who helps our structure and straightens us up a bit, so I'd definitely keep him.

What about Nathan Brown? Arguably, he could take the Anvil's spot, but you can't play em both, or the team will be top heavy, and MM has made it clear during the season to date that he aint going to drop the Anvil, come hell or high water. Some interesting dilemmas at the selection table coming up (but good problems to have).

The scary thing is that Medhurst isn't even near 50% of what he was last year. Imagine if he was firing, then we also have Dick down there on the forward line!

It's so much better than Brisbanes gameplan....KICK IT TO BROWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed, but half the blame goes to Cloke for putting himself in idiotic positions (Cloke being the guy JA was handpassing to on just about every occasion).

The best one was JA taking a mark 48m out, and Cloke running past him on his right side calling for the ball. What the hell for?

Johnno's another one who ran past on his wrong side yesterday, then when he got it, did his usual 20m hook turn just to get rid of it.

Our boy Clokey is well on his way back to his best..

Jack could be back also.. he just makes some crucial brain fades at times..
His kicking is certainly back, just needs to back himself from anywhere inside 50..

I loved seeing Jack kick those 2 goals from around 50 meters out. He just booted them straight between the goals. Was really exciting to see. And yes, his hair looks 100x better black than it did last week. My girlfriend told me that the only way to get orange tips out of your hair is to dye it pitch black, and I'm guessing that Anthony copped a fair bit last week and decided to get rid of it asap.

Cloke was effective as usual and it was nice seeing him kick goals. Dawes is still showing good signs, and I think he deserves more time on the field for what he's shown. Wood was fantastic to watch taking great marks in the 50.
