What is the significance of the big V?

They've pretty much had various V style designs for most of their existence https://nafc.com.au/history/brief-history https://footyjumpers.com/North-Adelaide.htm, and I suspect that in 1970 they decided to change to the Big V style out of admiration for Victoria's jumper. What is the significance of the big V?

Seems odd that’s Swans, Perth, Peel & East Perth have the WAFL logo under the neck lines whilst all the others clubs have it on the right chest…
WAFL guernseys are such an eyesore. Walking billboards.
