Hi all,

State of Origin is returning in 2022 and is set to begin with first match threads on the 10th of January. It will be a 3 week carnival, finishing on Thursday 27th.

Sign ups are now open. If you wish to be part of State of Origin in 2022, please fill out the below EOI form. A few things to note before signing up:

- This EOI is for newcomers to SoO ONLY, or for returning veterans who did not take part in the last two tournaments. You do not need tos sign up again if you were in last series tournament.
- Please be honest when choosing your state, because once you have chosen that, you are stuck with it. State swapping will NOT be allowed. Once you have signed up to a state, that will be your state. NO exceptions.
- If you are already in a squad and wish to opt out, you will need to speak to your captain.

FAQ:

I was born in --- but lived most of my life in ---, what state do I choose?


It is state of ORGIN, not State of Where you live now.

That said, you still have free reign in your choice, however once you choose one, you will not be allowed to change.

Why can't I change states?
Because it is a representative comp that relies on people being honest. We can't exactly police which state people choose or prove whether you are honestly choosing the correct state or not, but we can enforce no team changing.

Do I have to sign up if I played before?
If you played in the last tournament, no. If you played in the 2020 one, but not 2021, it depends if your captain still has you listed.

Is this the same as SFA?
Yes, you you will have match threads to banter with your opposition, however unlike in SFA, they only go for 2 days before the match is played.

2 options ;

SoO - Run 1 team out of VIC only and surplus players assist the World All Stars

or

World All Stars put a bid in to enter the league for S34 as the 14th team

Step 1 - get sign ups
Step 2 - review squad list
Step 3 - identify lines that can be drawn (Qld, Tas, overseas, etc. )
Step 4 - split, if practical to do so

Just for further incentive not to be a flog, both Jobe3Vote/The Jet and Papa Juggs were known to flop between different states at times, whoring themselves out for whoever will take them.

You wouldn't want to follow their trend...

The Allies acts as "the rest" so I guess that is an exception to be changing "states" depending on the interest available.
