Did I see right?

Judd and Goodes (Victorians) as emergencies? Sorry, but I would have thought they'd be walk-ups, same with Brian Lake and Cooney (SA).
I would actually leave Judd out on current form, he didn't have the best year and I think the Midfielders he selected have gone past him, expect for Mitchell, maybe. I would swap Goodes with Chapman, but that's touch and go really, depends on how the opposition line up.

I know these are all hypothetical's, but it's fun to talk about.

The fact that you tried to compare Clark with Kennedy is laughable.

Alright, Clark has been benched for Kennedy but if Kennedy trips over himself in the warm up during goal kicking practice ... he's going back to the bench =)

I think the WA team looks good, their midfield isn't the strongest but I think they could almost take it out. Unfortunately my South Aussies look a little behind the Vics and WA but we have a strong backline. So if Pav and Schulz can clunk a few ... might have a chance.

My second team would have to be the Territory! I found a heap of small forwards but they are going to struggle in the ruck (had to put Zeph Skinner in there!) and against the tall forwards I think. Might have to pluck some big guys out of the local league. Would also love to see Messi run around the forward 50 and Jon Jones have a go at putting Trav Cloke and Jack Riewoldt down a peg or two =)

Hey, what?
Goodes is South Australian!

Yes, but under current SOO rules (which still stand regardless of whether it returns or not), because Goodes was recruited from a Victtoria, he plays for Victoria. He was actually born in Wallaroo.

Didn't they go for the state you lived in for the most amount of time, between the ages of 10 and being drafted, or something?

So why did you invent jumpers for SA and WA whilst keeping the Victorian one?

I quite like the previous WA guernsey but they have changed it a few times and I think it still could be better ... just personal taste I guess (Not that mine is any good ... I need to have another go at it .... they're looking like a swarm of bees). And the SA guernsey I like but again think it could better so was just trying something different.

Great efforts Antony, but I'd definitely like some colour for international...green and black maybe?
P.S. Nice name ;)

Yeah i'm still thinking about it ... was going to try one with blue, red and white (AFL colours) but surely can do better .... am not really sure ...

This.

It's why Buckley didn't play for South Australia.

Can't see the Territory doing well with that FB/CHB combo, Xavier and Raph Clarke!

Small thing, but how come you've acknowledged the Angus Graham trade, but not the Brian Lake trade? Similarly, Tippett should probably be dropped seeing as deregistration's on the horizon for him.

I missed that Lake had been traded! And the Tippett situation is a mess but I think he can stay in the side!

If Jack Riewoldt can make the Tas side, then Nick Riewoldt deserves to be in there - as with others, may have not had the best year, but I think his all-time form warrants it.

Jamie O'Reilly in the International team - better choice than the non-footy guys you have, but he never played a senior game at Richmond and was delisted at the end of 2011.

When you look at the Rugby League State of Origin you can get one message from it, Keep It Simple. One state versus another state. We couldn't reduce our state of origin down to two states, like the Victoria vs the Rest game in 2008. The game would only work if played at the MCG, the rest don't have a home venue or somewhere that would get behind a team of everyone else versus Victoria. South Australians want to see SA versus Victoria and Western Australians want to see WA versus Victoria. It was best when they last had State of Origin, with Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and the Allies. The Allies were the weak link in the group of four, but you need something to represent everyone else, or you have the situation where Dunstall played for Victoria. Our players come from all states of Australia, and overseas as well, unlike the Rugby League. However, we only need four teams compete. Having a team represent each state will create meaningless matches and will given the opponents of State of Origin more weapons to fight the idea.

Rugby League State of Origin also showed us that you should Keep It Simple with the jumpers. When NSW changed their jumpers a few years back their was an uproar. State of Origin is not about selling a jumper to a kid every three years because they change the jumper. It is about representing your state, carrying on the traditions of the state. It should be the goal of every Victorian Footballer, outside of winning a Grand Final, to pull on a Big V jumper and take the field for Victoria. You can't represent Australia in AFL, even if they try to sell International Rules to us it still isn't AFL. So Keeping It Simple, the four jumpers would be:

Allies:

South Australia:

Victoria:

Western Australia:

Thanks! Although I know it is called State of Origin, i've tried to put the players in the state that they spent the majority of years growing up. Rodan, Renouf, O'Brien and most of the list were born overseas but moved to Australia at a young age so i ended up putting them with the state of Australia they grew up in from what I could find but had to guess for some. That being said I think i might move Hunt from Queensland to the International team as i'm reading it says he didn't move here until age 11. Nick Riewoldt I wasn't so sure on, I think he could of gone either way. He was born in Tassie but moved to Queensland it says when he was 9 ... so i have him in the Queensland team but he could be one where he would just choose whichever state he considers himself to be most closely associated.

Great work, but you've put Dunstall's two Colemans under Victoria, when he's from Cooparoo (QLD). You've managed to put him down for a QLD coaching position but must have forgot about his playing accomplishments.

Looks good Bryce! I just need an idea for the international team now ... maybe i'll get some time later at work. Unless anyone wants to have a go at it for me!? I'll put you in the International team as the Runner or Waterboy/girl or Equipment Manager! If anyone has any good ideas ... I'm thinking more modern than the usual sash or stripes.
