i know the highest beep was 14.9 by i think 2 players. only know that matthew kilpin was one of them. Kyle Martin was a late call up which was good to see. Gotch ran mid 14's in the beep.

mark my words Post will not go +50. north r very keen on him and could even use their 2nd wound pick on him. adelaide also are very interested and could surprise with 2nd round pick. his last game (the final) against dandy was exceptional and impressed alot. would have been at draft camp after that performance only for clubs prefernces went in before the tac cup finals.

howd Rayner go? i keep hearing he is a real smokey for this draft and a superb 800m runner

I'm interested in how Rayner went also, has he overcome his back stress fractures & did he perform at screening.

Freak athlete,is he any good at football.

Did A.Hooper do any testing for vistorian state screenings and whered do people think he will get drafted. Very good player and touted as good as scully in 16's and 15's but everyone has caught up to him in size and build he now is only 172 cm.

I hear Hoops did 12.4 beep. Not so good for a running player. Not sure I ever heard he was likened to Scully. He has been a boy in a mans body for sure in age footy - he had team skills to learn (no I in team) and he has picked up his game in that regard for sure. He's probably as tall as he will be, so thats not in is favour. He would be a risk for any team but if there was one with space on their rookie list, he would have to be worth a chance. He gets heaps of the footy in TAC and led the Morrish Medal for most of the nite. Would be interesting to see how he went in the VFL 2's against more men bodies. Otherwise he has to build on is 2008 year in TAC.

heard he was a good athlete wot r some of the things his achieved in athletics. not a bad footballer needs some size though very very raw

also saw a highlights package of posty the other day and g was he impressive, not only his massive leap and contested marks but his run and carry and pace for a big bloke is astounding, be very surprised if he lasted past the 2nd round based on what i saw.

another good story coming from the under 19 rule.

Some results from Aths Aust & other BF posts:- Rayner won u17 800m Aust champs last year(pb 1:51.50); 3rd in 400m (48.79); youngest male athlete at Beijing Olympic trials; has three 800m World Youth (u18) qualifiers; rep Vic in cross country (4-5km). Can play footy also-Vic U16 last year playing BP on resting mids like Sidebottom, Walters (3-4 goals kicked on him in 3 games). Four games with Jets this year before injury averaging 20+ possies. Bottom age and agree with others that he is a smokey in draft. Probably a project player for next year or two before his body big enough for the big stuff.

Post sensational player - deserved & popular winner of Jest B&F. Smart dedicated footballer who won't let anyone down if (when) picked up.

The two real gems amoungst this lot would have to be Mitch Brown and Sam O'Sullivan. Both have been off the radar a bit due to injury but they have shown at TAC and Schoolboy footy that they can split a game wide open.

Mitch Brown is a great story, getting his body right after that accident and then bairnstorming his way through the year. He turned in some impressive games at Sandy and then broke the APS v AGS game apart with 8 goals and some brilliant marks under lights that set the recruiters chin wagging their way back to their kennels.

Sam O'Sullivan (SOS) has the pedigree. Ian Aitken and Luke & Chris O'Sullivan's nephew, this kid is a hardnut that is a serious midfield talent. He had a month there for Oakleigh Chargers where he was white hot before doing his foot. The game he played for Xavier against Haileybury where he kept Scully quiet and racked up 40 + possessions was a blinder. I reckon he will join his cousin Dan Hannebery on a list somewhere as a late round pick. Carlton have been sniffing around, no doubt due to his family ties, but Essendon and North have him in the mix to fix up their future midfield dilemnas

Interesting. Never seen him. Do you have his height etc?

Im going to go the WA state screenings tomorrow. I am unsure what time it starts and i think its at UWA.

Anyone with information please help will try and get some times and post them on here.

Royal Eagle may know
and Sipari seems to know everything.

A recent article in the VFL/TAC record had him listed as 181cm so he's right on 6ft. Very good in the air and pretty pacey. Certainly worth a rookie spot at least. Plays a lot like his cousin Hannebery - they both play at Oakleigh and Xavier and a fairly lethal combination with the latter in the centre and O'Sullivan on the wing/roving.

Thanks for the info on Rayner, I knew he was potentially world class in the 800m.

I'm guessing he has a good leap as well, was good at the high, long & triple jump too.

im a fan but he is very very raw isnt he?
heard his back stress fractures held him from doing much at the screening. the question is will clubs take a massive risk a pick a player up who is
a) raw very raw
b) bottom age
c) injury affected
d) still undecided on footy v athletics debate
e) played just 4 tac cup games
f) entering a draft with alot of depth

i would probbaly wait til next year and give him an extra year playing against kids

let me know how Tom Lee goes

Glen Dawson from Eagles in SA ran a 2.75 in the 20 metre sprint yesty. Breaking Daniel Pierce's record of 2.76.

WATCH OUT 4 THIS KID!! has the x-factor. played against him this year. he kicked 10 goal from full fwd and took about 5 hangers.

Warren Benjamin (brother of the one at Carlton) has reportedly been running in the 2.69-2.71 range. Will be interesting to see how he goes.

T.Lee: plays footy for scotch and clarmont colts. He isnt anything special with football he is jsut a fairly good athlete and tall. wouldnt even be in scotchs best 3 players. He performed well at the screenings, got like 2.95 for 20 metre sprint did a good leap but didnt get a measurment. Got like 8.47 for agility i think and did about a low 13 beep.

W.Benjamin: has done an 2.69 for 20 metre sprint and today got 2.82 and 2.78. He wasnt even like a top sprinter at his school Hale last year wasnt even like top 4 for Hale in 100m. He is full of power though and his beep test was very disappointing luck he got 12.9 but he should of been pulled out around 12.2. Agility also got about 8.4 - 8.5 and did a great vertical leap. He was massivily built hes got the biggest arms ive seen. was the standout of the state screenings.

A.Cockie: wasnt anything special got 12.11 beep. missed a vertical leap when he didnt jump and said F***. Didnt seem to take it seriousily and was saying hello to everyone.

K.King: 20 metre sprint got 3.10 i think was his best and also did a 13.10 in the beep.

J.Laurie: Did well in everything was quick, agile, good leap and got 15.1 or 15.2 in beep (best of WA), well built kid should get drafted.

Jamie Bennel (swans) : pretty sure it was him couldn't see johnny bennell. He got 2.94 for 20 metre sprint and had to adjust the vertical leap even higher for him as he jumped over the top in the running vertical leap.

King 3.10s - was it on one leg? He should be able to run sub 3s in his sleep - would've expected somethin around 2.80s.

Very surprised with Cockie on running a 12.11, he's a big gut runner on-field.

Would've expected Ballantyne, Garlett and Banfield to run good 20m times, Anthony to run a good beep - did they perform as expected?
