I have recently been browsing through the websites of many Northern Territory leagues, looking through recent results of games. A common sight I observed was many games where the scoreline saw one team finish with a score of 10.0 (60) with the other team being given a score of 0.0 (0). I presume this has something to do with these games being a walkover and one team is compensated with 60 points for their percentage?

In 1918 VFA Round 5 - North Melbourne kicked 5 29 (59) to Brunswick's 8 6 (54)
North Melbourne kicked 3 goals less than Brunswick...but still won.

Has this ever happened in the VFL/AFL...or any other competition?

Another instance was during round 18, 1990 in the NTFL:

Ulverstone 5.29 (59) defeated Latrobe 8.8 (56)

What is the most games someone has polled a vote for in the Brownlow? (Single season & Career)

I don't have all the tallies of 3-2-1 prior to 1984, especially for players who finished behind the leaders. So for example I have votes for votes for 11 of Leigh Matthews' seasons, but no details for the years he polled 2,3, 10, 3, 6 & 11 votes.

My incomplete figures show

season - Dangerfield, 15 in 2016
career - Ablett jnr, 109

Would Tom Hawkins have had the biggest 'Birthday bash' game in terms of goals kicked? 7 is not too bad for his 30th.

The only additions to this list are Hawkins and Jeremy Cameron (6 in 2017).
Most goals by a player on his birthday:

.G Player . . . . . .Cb Age Op Year Rd

Note Everitt & Healey sharing the same DOB and kicking 6 apiece in the same match - one of only 9 occasions in which two teammates have played in the same match on their birthdays. On two other occasions, one player from each side celebrated a birthday. There has never been a match with more than two.

Steven Febey & Doug Hawkins both played in a record five matches on their birthdays, Febey winning 4 and Hawkins 3.

By my count, Richmond and Melbourne last played in the finals together in 1941. Is there are a longer gap in VFL/AFL history of two sides not playing in the same finals series?

St.Kilda/Fitzroy (1913-1996, 83 years) remained unbroken. Then comes Melbourne/Richmond, followed by Sydney/Fitzroy (1924-1986) and Geelong/Sydney (1934-1996), then Essendon/St.Kilda (1908-1965).

Longest extant streaks after Melbourne/Richmond are Richmond/St/Kilda (1973) and Port/Bulldogs (1999).

Will this season see the breaking of the astonishing drought of a Tigers/Hawks Final? Made many finals series together in the 70's in particular, '82 and '13-'15....but have famously yet to clash in a Finals game.

I have Hawthorn (and Essendon) each missing finals by a game.

I have hawthorn finishing 3rd.....and have them going out in straight sets to west coast and Geelong...

Lions have 4 wins for the season but a winning streak that is the at 3. What the longest streak per games won by the team?
(So at best there could be a team on a 4 game streak with 4 wins)

Further, their current streak is the current longest, what is the lowest ladder position that has had the longest streak at the start of the round.

First one is difficult to sort out. There are teams like Essendon 2000 (20 from 20) and Essendon 1981 (16 wins, 15 consecutive).

St.Kilda 1983 equalled Brisbane's effort (4 wins after Round 17, 3 consecutive). Fitzroy 1976 had 5 wins after Round 14, with 4 consecutive; Fitzroy again in 1969 had 5 wins after Round 16 with 4 consecutive. South Melbourne 1943 had 5 wins after Round 14, with all five consecutive. But there aren't many of these cases involving struggling clubs that occur late in the season.

Brisbane in 16th is the lowest. Collingwood (15th after 2005 R10, 2 wins, equal with two other clubs) and Geelong (15th after 1998 R7, 2 wins, equal with three other clubs) are next. Next lowest with the longest streak outright is St.Kilda (13th after 1994 R24, 3 wins).

Thanks for the efforts. Bombers 2000 should have been obvious to me.

Half of all players would have a birthday October-March, and then, for those that have a birthday during the season, only once every 7 years on average would they be playing that day.

41 of the 85 300-gamers never played a match on their birthday. Of those, only Jordan Lewis (24/4), Stephen Silvagni (31/5), Ben Hart (9/7) and Robert Harvey (21/8) were born between April and August.

Yesterday Western Bulldogs kicked 4 behinds for the game, all of them coming during the third quarter. When did a team last kick all their behinds in the one quarter?

a few weeks ago - https://afltables.com/afl/stats/games/2018/141620180628.html

a few others in recent years:

Now I'm curious how many times a team has scored 4+ behinds in a quarter and 0 in the other three quarters?

Sydney (11.1) in Rd. 15 2018 is the answer!

There is has been much talk lately about Richmond having currently won 18 consecutive games at the MCG. What are some records for other grounds which have had a lengthy history within the VFL/AFL?
