Another squiggle post - blues predicted to beat freo, west coast, GWS, North, Hawks, GC, Adel. Which will be enough. Below is the current team where it lies according to attack and defence stats. I’m pretty bullish. Finals here we come. Once he includes the fixture and the days break (6 v North, 5 v Hawks, 9 v West Coast and 6 v freo). It may look shit but in comparison to our opposition (north same, Hawks will be later by a day into the hub, west coast 6, and Freo less that 5 days).

Absolutely, no one wants to eat that.

To be fair, not even sure what they do, add them to soups etc. anyway

Yep, can’t cook silverside, soup etc without them. Would be cheaper to plant my own tree though

The lines represent the movement of the teams according to attack and defence data. Squiggle (google max Barry - Squiggle) uses his own data to interpret results and forecast who may win the premiership (or who wins each game). He projects Carlton for 8th. If you look at the Carlton symbol and the navy blue line you can see the movement it’s made this season. If the symbol moves north it indicates progress in attack statistics. If it moves east it indicates progress in defence. The teams in the top left are strong attacking teams and weaker defensive teams. The teams in the bottom right are strong defensive sides and weak attacking ones. The top right is the aim. So at you move diagonally towards the top right you are becoming a premiership side (based off historically data) if you look at the cups each premiership side has been analysed and that where they finished the season. The Sydney 2005 team is an outlier but is still in that quadrant. Current Collingwood is very strong defensively but about as offensive as Carlton. Current Brisbane is very offensive but about defensive as the current Carlton. The premiership team will be somewhere in he middle. Essentially Collingwood won’t win in its current form as they can’t score. And Brisbane can’t defend. This is where port stands out as they are a balance between defence and attack and projecting towards that area.

Needs to be a hit out to disadvantage stat. Seem to count as a hit out even if it goes straight to the opposition who score.

Seems bizarre to celebrate 20+ hit outs if you don’t win a single clearance as a result

One clear error though - Essendon* is the most offensive team in the AFL....

I don’t know if that’s the best way of looking at it. Having a look at this weeks sides we have more players playing then St Kilda who were on our list prior to 2015. There 4 to our 7 and we have the same amount as Brisbane. They have either built more or at least as much of their side as we have over the last 5 years.
