Games are such a massive time-sink.

No doubt I'll reinstall and download games again, but really I'm not missing it much at all.

Does anyone else occasionally just delete all games and get on with their life?

I tend to go through phases of not playing anything at all for 2-3 months and then play flat out for a week or two. Usually, brought on by an awesome game like Fallout 3, Dragon Age or GTA coming out.

You do realise that you can back those games up so you don't have to re-download right? If I deleted all my games I would be stuffed.. I think I have about 150gigs worth of steam games lol

Leisure isn't part of your life?

It should be the major part of it.

At a point it stops being leisure and starts being a waste of time.

Yes but that would mean it would be too easy to re-install.

So everything is now wiped. If I really want to play it in future I'll download again. Strangely enough when I reinstall I usually only download a couple of favourites and cannot be bothered to d/l some I've only played twice, like Bioshock etc

That's probably not the worst idea. Due to steam sales I have a backlog of 10 or so games I need to play, some I haven't even downloaded yet. I need a way to force myself to focus on only 1 or 2 at a time otherwise more sales come and I end up collecting games like they're poke'mon without ever playing them.

I'm like MalFan. I tend to not touch games for months, then I'll grab one, spend a week or two knocking it off, then resume normal operations.

Only really play single player games. I'm too shit at video games to get much out of multiplayer. Getting constantly shot in the head is enjoyable for so long.

I tend to only have one or two pc games installed, and they end up untouched for months (usually until i have to format and reinstall XP). I have a multitude of disc gamesvia steam (basically the disc versions of the Half Life 1 pack, Half Life 2, CS: Source etc), but i tend to only play CS: Source the most.

I installed my first game in months last week, purchased the pc version of COD 4: MW as i felt like playing it again (the disc for my 360 version = fubarred), and wanted to experience the multiplayer lag free - as it was prior to the patch with the console version in early 2008. It was the first game i installed on my pc since International Cricket Captain earlier this year :p.

Years ago i used to install any/every game i could on the system and not care about space. Despite having 200gb spread across two hdd's, i'm more picky about hdd space these days (i have a hd-tv capture card... and require lots of hdd space for it).

Likewise with console gaming, i have a 120gb hdd on my Xbox 360 - and i like to install all of the games i play to save the dvd drive from crapping out. Funnily enough in doing that i may cause the console to fail with heat issues due to the fans not spinning because the dvd drive remains idle with the disc inside.

I frequently am low on space on the 360 drive, i have games installed that i hate deleting (despite not playing them for months), it's a silly way of thinking..... but i like to keep them on - if i took them off and decided to play them a day, a week or a month later..... i'd have to go through 9 - 15 minutes of waiting while the game is installed to the hdd again :p.

In saying that i recently had a hdd cleanout on the 360 - the installed games only work on the console you install them to, since i moved on to another console while my main console was being repaired.... i had to re-install the main ones i was playing (including COD: MW2). In any case i had 60+gb to use, but now it's more like 30gb.... as i've installed a few more games recently.

You should use cheats.

Tiger Woods did that, he set a high score before being caught and now has to start at level 1 :p
