What's the deal with this guy? Born 15/12/93 so is still too young to get drafted but he has been finding plenty of the ball in the WAFL for Swan Districts since making his debut a couple of weeks ago. Represented WA in the NAB U18 Championships. What's he like?

Very good footballer ..... very good cricketer.....

He will need to decide one way or another very soon..... my mail is that footy is just ahead.

183/79 inside/out midfielder.

Impressive all-round game - good ball winning skills, clean disposer, makes good decisions, creative, has a burst of pace, very good work-rate, lean athletic frame - no major flaws.

Is shaping as an early first round selection for next year - will be one of the youngest players drafted next year (mid December 1993 birthday).

Who knows West Sydney might take him a year early ala GC17 and David Swallow!

Very good bloke as well.

He injured an ankle on the weekend, and couldnt walk on monday or tuesday, so may not play this week, Im not 100% sure.

Will be a top 5 draft pick if he goes that way for sure.

JDC, what do you mean by whats the deal with him?

I think he just simply means what he is like as a player or why he is carving it up in the WAFL.

wceblog pretty much summed it up, can play inside or outside mid, very good skills both left and right foot, very fit, big for a 16 year old, still growing height wise I'd say, never been lightning quick but he's definitely not slow and he's a great decision maker, pretty much an all round good player.

Played well for Swans today and should get picked to play in the Grand Final.

2011 number one draft pick.

Calling it early unless something dramatic happens.

Three goals in the WAFL seniors grand final and one of Swans most dangerous player as a sixteen year old - long way to go but there might be some strength in your argument.

26 touches to 3/4 time and looks very, very exciting.

Pity that we wont see him in the purple in all likelyhood.:(

Wow, just wow.

Gives a performance most players would kill for in any Grand Final. And he does it as a 16 year old.

Exactly the sort of temperament recruiters kill for.

IMO what we learnt today is that his decision making and skill-level under extreme pressure is top of the class, and that he is a very good competitor and also loves a goal (4 goals all up).

Okay size at 183cm and a notch above in the speed category at this level.

GWS-bound methinks. Between him, Swallow and Rich we have had our fair share of underage achievers.

That goal he needed to kick in the dying minutes shows he has the composure of an AFL player all ready.

Only a couple of things can see him go backwards from here.

1) Serious Injury.
2) Awesome-itis.

He has a very awkward running style, which I reckon makes him look slower then what he actually is haha.

I think he would have had the chance to gather a lot more disposals today, but Dawson was using him off the bench. Spent more time jogging in front of me then on the ground!

You guys think he'll be picked up by GWS early?

In a WAFL grand final with season hardened men and a number of experienced AFL players, he was pretty much 2nd best to Krakouer the standout (40 possessions and 4 goals). BUT!!!

Daniel Rich was that kind of awesomeness as well and he dropped to 8th because his arms were too short. Mind you, Daniel Rich never appeared uber fast and explosive like Coniglio...

He looks like being a superstar. How many 16 year olds in history have dominated senior footy the way this kid has late in the season? How many show the poise and confidence to have influential touches in a Grand Final? Not many.

Provided he's level headed he should be snapped up very, very quickly in the 2011 draft. GWS should be drooling at what he has to offer.

He could also select a cricket career, has AIS scholarships to both I believe.

Great call. Awsome-itis would be a serious concern at this point. Could see him slide dramatically.

Seriously doubt awesome-itis will come into it. Very level headed young kid from what I have seen.

I would give my left testicle for him to slide down enough to get to West Coast

So would I!:)

I still reckon footy will win him over.

I hope he is a hard level kid because all this attention of being this 16 year old kid playing in a WAFL premiership celebrating with mates, potential number 1 draft pick can have it's effects at a young age. There would need to be something huge to prevent him from being drafted but is it fair to say everyone would have him in the top three for the next draft? Personally I can not see him not being drafted but if he lets his mind slip I can see him slide, which is potentially a good thing from a WCE point of view ;)

I don't know the full story here but another swan districts player who I tipped to get drafted as a 17 year old (2 seasons ago) as he just dominated in his junior days playing ahead of his age group is yet to be drafted. Was considered as a rookie last year but didn't work out. Didn't end up playing in this years WAFL premiership either so this won't help his chances. Started the season well but didn't finish the season strongly. I feel you know who I am talking about here swannies and I am not sure if he had injury related issues but he enjoys his lifestyle alot and this has seen him slide a fair bit. Can not see his name being talked about this season either.
