huge chance to go top 10.

I would not say that, there are a number of players ahead of him at the moment.

Very good results at the DC, he should be around the 15-24 mark. I highly doubt he will make it past the two picks in late teens and early twenties that the WCE and Dockers will have.

Hey ive seen him play juniors for a few years now he was a standout then and I would love to see him in a Blues Jumper. His results at draft camp have been excellent and would of have bumped up his draft picking order

I agree.

He was renowned for his agility, speed and fitness before the camp so the results shouldn't surprise most people who have seen him play. Don't think his stocks have risen much, if any. He might sneak into the first round but for me, more likely very earlier second.

He went into camp with these areas as his strong suits and while he did perform very well, none of the recruiters that I spoke to were surprised at his numbers. They all expected him to feature in these tests and by performing has only really held his ground or increased slightly in the rankings. He is a good prospect and could sneak in to first round calculations but I see him around the early to mid second round. Better players available at pick 6 for mine.

Despite his ability, i'm just not sure of a couple of things:

1. Think there would be better players than him at #6
2. Not really the type of player we would be looking for

Agree. He certainly has the speed/agility boxes ticked but i doubt his 'contest' is strong enough for a pick in the top two rounds for us. Any 'mid' we get this year MUST be of the strong, 'inside' variety please Mr Hughes.

they passed up on army and browne

This guy was already rated highly but after his test results i belive he is a huge chance to go top 10. Over the last few days he has moved up in my rankings alot. He has exceptional pace. Heres a video. Would LOVE to get him with pick 6.

Not really very impressive, but this is the only footage i have seen so i cant really judge him properly. But from those images, well im not convinced.

Me either!! Pick 6 forget it IMHO.

Speed means nothing if you havent got top notch skills to go with it. Whats the point of being able to run quickly with the footy if you cant use it? PICK 6, GET OFF IT!

Would love Hill at Carlton if we can get another early round pick by trading *insert any C grader's name*.

Some harsh comments about Hill in this thread. :thumbsd:

I believe Hill tagged Hartlett out of a match in the U18 champs, so he must have some talent.

Hill might not be the sought of player our recruiters would look for, but that doesn't mean we don't need his legspeed and run.

We are one of the slowest teams in the AFL.

We picked up Pfeiffer FFS when we already had Bentick, Wiggins, Blackwell, Jackson and Hadley on our list.

Has all the hallmarks of a top 10 pick. Some fussy people here. The guy has lightning line breaking pace and more importantly uses it. Can shutdown a high quality opponent while accumulating plenty of his own ball and has a thumping left foot. It would surprise me greatly if he wasn't in the first 12 picked. I wouldn't rule him out at 6 and he's more than worthy of being part of that discussion.

nah, why would we want a super quick jet with good skills and can run all day to boot.......also a great kid by all reports.....don't need him .

I'm with TGR.

I've had him top 10 since seeing some of his other champs games. Huge upside, was given the run-with role of every opposition midfielder and stuck to his task every time. Is prone to kicking a bit of a floater from time to time, but on the whole it is fine. Saw him kick a few goals on the run from 50m+ so he can't be too bad a kick.

I personally have him very close to the six mark, and would not be unhappy with him in navy blue next year.

Any chance of getting your phantom draft after trade week?

It would be nice to add some pace, but I think we have got some speed there with Judd and Walker.....even Armfield.

Would place a much higher premium on skills.

Both the Cats and Hawks have some speed, but I wouldn't call either midfield express.......they just don't miss targets and they work very hard off the ball.
We miss targets often and are lazy off the ball. Speed alone won't fix either problem.

Too many queries for pick 6 in a draft with such high quality 1st round prospects. It would be Richmond-esque to use a 1st rounder on him.

I don't see too many queries with Hill, but I know where you are coming from.....it would just depend on how the top 5 fall and who is around at 6.

He's quite a big project IMO and when you potentially have guys like Ziebell/Sidebottom/Vickery/Hurley/Hartlett and co. to choose from, it's very hard to justify putting Hill ahead of them.

That is the main problem with regards to him breaking into the top 10.

Add to that list Watts, NickNat, Rich and you already have 8 names.

I have a feeling when a team is considering Hill you will also be considering Blease.

Then if that is the case which player do you rate higher?

I just don't think I'd be using a top 10 pick on a guy that's essentially an outside HBF.

Main concerns for me:

- Very slight frame
- Iffy composure/DM under pressure/inside traffic
- Lacks natural balance

General footy smarts aren't great either - has all the tools to hurt the opposition (quick, agile, big motor, big vertical leap, long left foot kick, versatile and plays taller than his listed height) but doesn't do anywhere near enough. Footskills are also more inconsistent than most give credit for.

Again I can see where you are coming from but think you are placing too much emphasis on minor flaws that are fixable. That sort of pace, agility and engine aren't. His footy smarts are ok, and while he is not as instinctual as others, he usually buys himself time with the combination of pace and agility.

As for the body shape, if you blokes are willing to take a punt on Notte....say no more :D.

Personally there are others I would prefer at 6, but if the top 5 fell a certain way, he'd certainly be one of two or three I would look at for 6.
